News Russian MMA fighter head kick KOs opponent during boxing match

From what I gathered after seeing this clip on social media, this was in Thailand at an event of a gym from there.

Iranian guy that got knocked out apparently is a pretty decent amateur boxer, sad this happened but honestly fighting in Thailand is kind of wild west unless it is a bigger event. Pretty sure the guy won't face too much backlash other than not being allowed to fight at those events from that gym.
Thailand? I just rewatched the video and looked at the crowd. Didn't see a single person of Asian descent. Is your AV from the new Terrifier 3 movie? Thought about watching it recently but that whole film series looks kind of cheesy.

He does look soft but he's only 19. A lot of that is just baby fat. Once he finds his ideal weight I think he'll stick to it like most fighters. Lately he's been hanging out at around 240 lbs but he's fought as high as 250 even though he's technically on the small side by today's heavyweight standards. The average top heavyweight now is around 6'5 and 250 lbs.
it wouldn't hurt him to lose 20 or so pounds. With what's going on today, it probably won't matter. Ali may have been able to break Floyd's record but it was better for him to win it at 22, that was perfect timing as he was pretty spindly as a young pro and actually bulked up to 210 for Liston which didn't hurt him a bit. He was still years from being his full maturity but he was able to hold and clinch the guy most people would have thought (and probably was) way stronger. Liston had said a couple times that ali hit hard. After the first fight, he was in the dressing room saying, "that's not the guy I was supposed to fight, that guy could punch" that's not the sentiment of a lot of people in the business. so, even if he could have beaten patterson/liston earlier the wait gave him time.

Well if you are expecting a movie with the depth of Shawshank redemption dont, if you liked the first couple nightmare on elm street then yes. Movies dont take themselves too seriously so you should not either.

Regarding the fight, there is plenty of expats from Iran and eastern Europe in Thailand. There is gyms that are explicitly aimed at non Thai people so I do not find this surprising at all.

I think over time he could reduce his weight a bit gradually but he'll need a reason to do that. So far he hasn't been given one. Everything's gone smoothly. Until he steps up and someone actually manages to test him then I think he'll remain at around 240.

In this heavyweight era these guys like to be heavier. They think that having more mass will help them take a punch better and that it will increase their strength in the clinch. Their weight will fluctuate though over their career and depending on their opponent. If they're fighting a highly mobile guy then they'll probably come in lighter than usual. If they're fighting a smaller guy then they might come in heavier in order to try and bully them like Fury did to Wilder in the second fight. Yeah, I've heard Ali's opponents say that he hit harder than he's known for. That his power was underrated.

Maybe I'll watch the Terrifier movies then. Yes, there are lots of expats in Thailand, but it is a bit odd to not see a single Thai or Asian in the crowd. My guess is that it took place somewhere else.

I dont remember the name of the gym but that was in Thailand. Too lazy to look for it again but it was a gym in Thailand hosting an event.

Terrifier is Gore galore so be warned, second and third are better than the first imo.

I'll be damned it was in Thailand. Just looked it up on BoxRec. It took place at the Ali Boxing Club in Phuket.

I think you underestimated how crazy expat culture has gotten in certain parts of Southeast Asia. There is places in Bali you probably will not see many locals around.

There is a reason they call Phuket little Russia.
