NEW YORK -- In a stunning and unexpected move to stop
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott from shipping busloads of
asylum seekers to New York City,
Mayor Eric Adams has filed a lawsuit against 17 charter bus companies used by the Lone Star State.
He wants the bus companies to reimburse the city for the hundreds of millions of dollars it's cost to shelter them.
"New York City has and will always do our part to manage this humanitarian crisis, but we cannot bear the cost of reckless political ploys from the state of Texas, alone," Adams said.
The last straw for the mayor was apparently Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's decision to send buses to New Jersey train stations connecting to New York City to thwart an executive order.

In a sharp escalation over the migrant crisis, Mayor Eric Adams claimed in stark terms that New York City was being destroyed by an influx of 110,000 asylum seekers from the southern border and said that he did not see a way to fix the issue.
But the mayor’s comments on Wednesday were his most ominous yet. He pointed to
new projections that the city’s budget gap could grow to nearly $12 billion — the same amount that city officials estimate that the migrants could
cost the city over three years.
In provocative remarks at a town hall meeting, Mayor Eric Adams said that he did not “see an ending” to the migrant crisis and renewed his push for federal help.

You see, it wasnt a national problem when Texas and border cities were dealing with it. But now that shifts expensive and NYC needs billions of dollars to pay for it.
