Crime Russian influence campaign, yup all those right wing grifting dorks!

So that shit didn't really happen?
No but its likely you're being fed stories based on your previous browsing habits and now we know that some content creators are influenced by foreign actors to bring these stories to you.

I'm sure I could find a positive story about an immigrant to show you weekly but you wouldn't be interested in that and so the algorithm reacts accordingly.

I thought wage growth only surpassed inflation in July of last year?
Not sure the relevance of that, but real wages have been rising since Q2 2022. 12M CPI peaked in June 2022, and it's down dramatically since then. Whatever anyone thought at the time, there's no more debate about the persistence of high inflation.

I didn't say it was all correct, but some of those talking points are reality whether they align with Russian interests or not.
Don't you think its telling that in the first line there's an overt lie? Surely you don't think its good for content creators to tell their audiences lies especially when they're being influenced by foreign governments to do so right? And anyway a good liar never feeds you only lies, they weave the truth into their lies to make them more believable.

So that shit didn't really happen?

I'm not saying it doesn't happen.

I'm saying it's curated to put a misleading slant on things.

If ten rapes happened last week, and ten rapes happened this week, but this week they found out one of the rapists was a migrant, are things really worse?

Obviously not. Are you more likely to hear about it from a carefully curated source?

You bet your ass you are! And Biden should have stopped it, build a damn wall, vote Trump!

Right wing fetish is weird.

All those right wing sources:

Just flip it to something besides MSNBC

I'm not MAGA. Check my post history if you don't believe me.

What about my migrant comment is wrong? If you aren't reading the news about rapes and murders by illegals or haven't seen the video of them taking over housing projects then you are trying to miss it.
A lot of that is rage bait porn or you have it stained in your memory because of confirmation bias. Migrants aren’t this boogey man out to ruin you…Truth is that people born here are more likely to go on those rape rampages.

Pointing out facts doesn't make one MAGA anymore than pointing out Trump's moral failures means one suffers from TDS.
Sure but if your knee jerk reaction to MAGA pundits being outed for bribery is whining about the democrats and foreigners. It does give that MAGA apologist type impression of you.

Isolated incidents isn’t the norm of a whole demographic of people that you villainized as the “other”…

If you are an American, the Russian state is not your friend. They aren't a beacon in the dark for the right. They aren't a place that makes sense and gets it right. They just aren't. They want you to hate your own country and countrymen. They want to sew disorder, and they likely cause a lot of the bullshit that Americans see in political and social discourse.

Everyday Russian people are fine - just as Americans are - but do not buy into the other bullshit propaganda.

Fuck any traitor that spouts off for a foreign government, and sends messages at the behest of people who literally hate your country and countrymen. Fuck them all.

But even if real wages are rising and peak inflation has passed, if wage growth is outstripped by inflation doesn't that mean that the average person is still experiencing price hikes relative to their income even if less than before?

<PlusJuan>

Same applies in Europe

Stop reading shit designed solely to divide us.

And give the assholes spreading their word no mind, no clicks, no money. They aren't our friends.

If real wages are rising, by definition wage growth is not outstripped by inflation.

Separately, it's at least possible for inflation to be low and for wage growth to also be low or even negative (that happened during the GFC, for example).

It's just undeniable that people who said that inflation wasn't embedded in expectations and would fall once a few issues were worked out were correct.

I love my immigrant neighbor Deolinda; I'm not looking for outrage porn and I'm mostly reading yahoo news links on weekdays.

What’s worse is that there are people that think he has a voice worth listening to.
He definitely got the Rogan bump. I’ve watched a few videos critiquing him, and they made some interesting points, mainly that his self-proclaimed centrist position doesn’t hold up when you dig into the sources he uses.

I think most political commentators are, to some degree, problematic. I listen to Destiny because I appreciate his thought process and analysis, but I understand why some people have issues with him.

That said, some commentators are far worse than others.

Pointing out that something can be both a fact and a Russian interest =/= whinning

Putin is a gangster, robbing his own country and people, transferring money to the west, and buying journalists, along with politicians, lawyers and judges with the money.

Because such a big deal was made out of Trump's own connections to Russia, MAGAts go into pure panic wrestling mode any time a Russia related story is brought up. It's Pavlovian.

They think because Putin has been assisting Trump, that means he's their teammate, but they are not. Putin doesn't see kindred spirits in MAGA, he sees useful idiots that will help him cause chaos whose only purpose is to help destabilize the U.S.

He’s not centrist if his entire brand is glazing Trump. But yeah even with the Rogan bump, he has literally nothing special to him. I can see why people are attracted to right wing pundits like Rubin, Walsh or even Sneako to an extent. But lord, Pool is literally the “where’s my hug at” type of guy.

Destiny makes good arguements for sure. It’s funny how without a college degree, he walked through intellectual heavyweights like Greenwald…That are probably smarter than him but they defend the indefensible to the point that they can’t weasel themselves out.

Personally, I don’t listen to too much pundits. I’ll maybe tune into Sam Harris here and there or just rewatch Hitchens debates lol
