Hadn't read the news before reading this thread and am now realizing GLSDBs are officially confirmed. Changes everything. Expect big offensives once the weather gets better from Ukraine. Very surprised if this is still going in 2 years.

All depends on how much support the West gives and how much political will the citizens of other countries like the US care. Right now, everybody is really supportive of giving aid.

If the West really ramps up the military weapons, Ukraine could completely expel Russia in the East and I can see this happening by the end of the year.

If the West keeps giving piecemeal aid little by little (like how they've been doing) then this can last years. At the beginning of the conflict, the West had very little faith Ukraine could resist and only gave them some anti-tank weapons and artillery. They thought it would only last days and saw no point in giving any significant aid.

But Ukraine really stepped up and over performed. That gave the West some faith that Ukraine could provide resistance, so they started slowly ramping up the aid. They're still not doing all they can to support them.

The US are sending GLSDB missiles to Ukraine soon. These will significantly change the battlefield as it allows precision missile strikes into Crimea and deep in Russian positions. These are coming soon so it will be interesting how it changes the course of the war. Every new technological advantage we have given the Ukrainians so far, they've used super effectively to kick the shit out of the Russians.

Of course the prob with Russia is that it will cut off it's nose to spite it's face. Hopefully the West can up what they have been sending and try to stay ahead of Russia as they are slowly being bled. The bigger question is how long can Russia financially continue the massive cost of the war and can they continue to get enough cannon fodder to throw in the meat wall?

I think Russia can last a lot longer than is being portrayed in our mainstream news. Their industry to produce or refurbish existing weapons is still churning.

Russia seems to be stupid when it comes to this war. They can throw another 500,000 drunks with no weapons into the meat grinder but Ukraine will turn them into meat pies. Im curious to see what happens when the Ukraines do to Russia after they come back from training in NATO with US weapons.

Russia installed de mining specialists, real pros from regular army to deal with problems.....after some months maybe this area will be more safe...

Ofc stuff also depends from specialist who had installed skills and how long time he had to install stuff + also what kind of stuff had been used.

IeDs might be even non magnetic btw...
Ofc majority of mines ukr are using are from USSR era stock and serial models... while even these had in assortiment also stuff for bobby traps....
Also from time and other variables if stuff is IeD....not serial production stuff....

Russian losses are very huge....
While they still quickly deliver next batch with ppl and smoothly are supplying ammo...
Artillery support and support with mortars fire is skilled and with generous ammunition supply...
Aviation usage very limited due to MANPADs....
Rumoured that Russia today had delivered more fighters : from paratroopers and marines units and special tasks forces....pros...

Zelensky insists that Bakhmut will be held as long as it is possible.....

Indeed. But ya never know. I was more pointing to the amount of soldiers who've actually gotten proper training compared to untrained unequipped Russians.

Btw it is ofc rumour level stuff but looks that in areas where hardcore pro special task forces are pressuring it is easy to determine.... cos looks that these wants to avoid damage civilians.....

Since long months ago advocated and advised evactuation from this area more than 85 000 inhabitants had evacuated ....and aren't there, however it is assumed that some 5 000-7000 civilians had remained and are waiting liberators to come....

More responsible % from these " liberators " are trying not to damage these ppl....

While I agree that in owerall their military sucks....

The same special forces doesn't sucks if we are talking about real long term hardcore pros...
Camouflage skills ( visual and thermal ) are not worse than NATO similar units level.
They does have also patience and doesn't waste ammo despite ofc are supplied well.....
They also aren't dumb nor also drunk idiots....

It is like if we will compare OMON with real anti terrorism pro level unit....by NATO standards btw...

And your future team mate is shooting in your chest.
With handgun.... ammo usually is 9*17 or 9*18 cartridge used by police. Not fake stuff.

This stuff is called " shot of trust " and it isn't for YT video.
When future team mate will do this, he will look in your eyes and xx ppl will watch this process....

Overall all their supply with artillery support had been...even.improved...

Spec ops and real pros most likely will start to work at night.
