Russian speaking side of internet was full of talks about ukr setting positions in apartments with civvies in them or putting mortars in yards of houses where people lived (though might not be much choice since they really tried to hold it)

I've also seen interviews of local officials talking about disappearing people they know are sympathetic to Moscow, plus I've literally seen video of Ukrainian troops dumping dead bodies of men in civilian clothes into pits with their hands tied. But these things don't keep me up at night, they are bound to happen.

What if France implements a full draft like Ukraine?
France currently has the Service National Universal (SNU), mandatory for all male and female citizens aged 16 to 25. It started in 2021. This compulsory service lasts for a month. The French Army could easily defeat the Ukrainian Army. Better soldiers, better leadership, and better training. Only thing keeping the Ukrainian Army above water is Western help - mostly (75%) from the United States. US intel, training, money, and equipment. The reason Ukraine looks so strong is because Russia looks so weak.

Both sides are cut from the same cloth. Naive posters in this thread think that because Russia invaded Ukraine, that automatically makes Ukraine the 'good' guys. They are far from it. ...but the media being biased, will only tell this story one-sided.
