International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V7

There's actually not a supply shortage at all. Their making bank on the " expected " shortage.

They literally are now selling less oil... for more profit than before. It's insane.

https://www.politico.eu/article/g7-...aine-war-to-cap-the-price-of-russian-oil/amp/

Its not insane, it makes perfect sense following the laws of supply and demand.

Oil companies globally cut supply during the pandemic due to decreased demand caused by lockdowns etc. Then demand for oil spiked up much faster than anticipated after the world's economies opened up again.... putting the world in a low supply, high demand situation which drove up oil prices. This is why the price of oil was rising consistently even before Russia invaded Ukraine.

Now oil companies (and Russia) are enjoying the high prices and can make more money without selling as much. But if this keeps up for too long, eventually demand destruction will kick in (like it did after the oil crisis in the 70s). Oil companies know this and have been slowly ramping up production, trying to avoid demand destruction while still trying to milk this situation for all its worth.

It isnt about having a higher GDP or financial assets. It is about them holding more valuable resources and materials needed for survival relative to the US. A lot of US economy fluff is financial and sales services. Funny money in the system. It isnt tangible or necessary for survival

I am aware this idea Russia will outlast the US angers you but its true

It doesn't anger me, it's not true.

You're comparing one selling economy with a severely hampered marketplace to several economies on a scale from selling to modern, and assuming the old fashioned system is the better one lol

The collapase
If you applied the same metrics that put the US at 20% inflation, Russia's inflation would probably be at 50%.

No but you can believe that if you want
will really break your brain

Ah yes, the collapase.

Still not facing facts about the Russian economy currently being a smokescreen in terms of everything from its currency to its inability to trade stocks?

Hey, did you hear they removed the word gullible from the dictionary?

It depends from stuff you are buying.

For example morgage in Moscow in normal area! is not much cheaper than in Western Europe, IF building and also. apartment/ flat is in good condition.
Moscow in one from most expensive cities in Europe in this...
+ area with CCTV, good internet, normal communications and not dangerous area + safe car park or garage available...

While when you are just uni graduate with references from appenticeship type practicum and good refs from uni too..

U usually start your carer when still are living in parents flat or their small apartment or are renting room in someone's apartment, will be this like 50 y.o soviet style stuff or something better.

Then you work and learn damn a lot in free time to climb up.....ofc good if you are able to make connections.
Then after some 1-2 years you most likely might afford to rent with short time contract some small apatment and if will be lucky to climb up in career further again and again...
Then you might start to make savings for first payment in order to get mortgage loan....
This too does take time...

Here I'm talking about some for example Ivan who is smart and managed to get Uni degree for free...maybe even had stipend....and in field in high demand....

You might get loan for small aparment in building built in 1959 th soviet style and after this had saw 0 normal maintenance, not alone to dream about renovation or any expensive repairs.
Or maybe in building finished in 2019 th...

Area too does matter damn a lot....

This is about mortgage market in moscow...
Some nice and smart lads with really good education and not bad jobs still jad lived IRL aka in dormitory type lifestyle when they were 25 y.o and with Master's degree and 2 y fulltime exp & references from boss, uni etc...

So now we get to it - you're an apocalypse kid, predicting the end ad infinitum without ever having to accept you're wrong for the simple reason that you're wrong, and there will be no collapse.

But boy you'd look dumb as old rocks living out there in Japan, wouldn't you?

Why not move to Russia where the real security is? Or are you perhaps being a tiny bit melodramatic? ;)

I am planning a move. Japan is cool at the moment for me. Please remember this conversation

Okay you can believe that but its not true. Your assessment is so flawed and it is the United States that will be worse off and not even existing as a United Country sooner than Russia

What part is not true?

What would Russia's economy look like without oil and gas exports? Does Russia have any innovative businesses, or significant products being manufactured on the global stage?
What's the current inflation rate in Russia?

All right buddy whatever you say!

<28>

But here's the really interesting thing. Both USA and UK expressly pointed out CHINA as the biggest economic threat, telling tech companies to expect ongoing effort to steal technology.

Russia?

No threat whatsoever.

<DCWhoa>

It won't; the USA will tell his replacement to continue to fly out to tell Zelinsky in person he must fight until every Ukranian is dead, in order to maximise pain and suffering for the Russians (and also - much more so - the Ukranians, but USA don't really care bout them anyway so they don't count), whenever he shows signs of wavering or the EU leaders suggest some kind of negotiations.

And that's what his replacement will continue to do (even if we have an election and Labour get in; Starmer resembles the B***r-creature, not the Corbynmonster). In particular Ben Wallace (supposedly the current lead candidate) is as much or even more of an Atlanticist bloodbeast than Boris. Liz Truss too.

pretty sick what my country has ended up being, really.

I dont really see the point in talking about body counts. It's one of those things simpletons do and has almost zero effect on wars outcome. How many Vietnamese did we kill for example? Still lost. More germane is Russians killed like 3 million Afghans and still lost. As long as Ukraine is willing to fight they can win like Afghans won despite heavy losses.

At the same time if Russia sees this as existential they too will lose 3 million. Jury still out. I think they got or will get all the Russian areas but whole country will be hard unless Ukraine surrenders.

Right wing rag, Vox is reporting on the influence Ukraine's lobbyists have in DC.

Inside Ukraine's lobbying blitz

- recently, lobbyists for Ukraine have more than doubled in DC. These are just those that have registered, but many are working without being a registered foreign agent ( Six new firms registered in June alone, bringing the total to 24 firms or individuals now registered to lobby on behalf of Ukrainian clients, up from 11 registered to work for Ukraine last year.)

- the DOJ has only 14 people on staff that investigate foreign lobbyists ( The FARA unit has grown to five attorneys, five analysts, two support staffers, an intern, and an FBI agent detailed to it)

- Ukraine’s lobbyists made more than 10,000 contacts with Congress, think tanks, and journalists. That’s higher than the well-funded lobbyists of Saudi Arabia

- A journalist from another outlet, who asked for anonymity to be blunt, concurred: It’s been “a nonstop cycle” of Ukrainian visitors in Washington, they told me, “And think tanks that have basically become lobbyists but with a nonprofit status.”

- journalists have been directly targeted by lobbyists in the hopes of getting positive coverage. It's worked. You no longer need to go to a member of Congress to get your way, just go directly to journalists.

Sure, we all will remember.
A lot of good VPNs might offer Japan's IP address.
It isn't secret.

So you so much love to press report buttons and so love your Mother Russia in Kremlin.
Please remember this conversation...

We had guys like you promising that bad west will die cos 2008-2009 crisis and next was when Covid appeared.

xxxxxx posts in xxxxx forums from guys advocating to remember conversation.

BTW nothing unusual. As flowchart.
A lot of ppl in BRIC countries believed that europe will not survive 1914-1917-1921 th stuff.
Then was Great Depression...
Then WW2...

Later .... the same oil and gold price peaks in 1970 ies twice...
Approx the same....

Nothing new nor in trolling nor in history....
