Putin stuns the world with shock move

President Vladimir Putin has audaciously stated on live TV that Russia will only accept payments in rubles for gas deliveries to “unfriendly countries”, which include all EU members, after Moscow was hit by unprecedented sanctions over Ukraine.

It means that these nations will soon have to convert their payments to Russian rubles if they want gas.

“I have decided to implement a set of measures to transfer payment for our gas supplies to unfriendly countries into Russian rubles,” Putin said during a televised government meeting, ordering the changes to be implemented within a week.

Putin ordered the nations’ central bank to develop a mechanism to make ruble payments in a matter of days.

Russia has earlier named the US, UK and members of the European Union “unfriendly” nations.

Will usa continue to stay out? I want you guys to realise if usa ramps up it's involvement... it's about this.. not Ukraine.

The Russian invasion has stalled and they have lost a lot of equipment.

It's bluster. He got fucked when half his foreign currency was seized, and his economy sanctioned, so now he wants to threaten to use his own devalued currency to pay his international debts. I'm just not sure what the legality of all that meant and if those rubles would be able to be converted after payment was received.

I think reality matters more than statements and announced papers& promises.
1.China will not supply Russia nor weapons nor soldiers.
2.Saudis are starting to increase oil production, ofc this is slow process.
3. Refugees in EU are more and more each day.
4. So for this they had signed long term deal with Quatar, ofc this isn't fast solution but long term.
5. Rosatom is kicked out from supposed NPP project in EU.
