I'm sure Russia has something like a MOAB. Failing that, they could drop big anvils or pianos as that seems more inline with their level of competence and effectiveness as of now. I can't think of a better way for Putin to escalate to all out international war than using nukes on the EU/NATO doorstep. And I doubt he's willing to go that far.

But then again I didn't think he'd attempt an all out invasion so what do I know?

Precision guided anvils? Wylie coyote would be proud. I agree don’t think he is willing to go as far as nukes otherwise he would have escalated this much faster than he has. He would not give the world the green light for a justified defensive first strike nuclear option. If he wanted that he would just strike first himself.

You could be right. If that is the case he isn’t going to use a tactical nuclear weapon. It’s a comprehensive first strike assault. I do think he cares about his legacy and there is no legacy if nearly everyone on the planet is dead.

I do think that is what he wants. It apart of evil west is brainwashed and is against us. It allows him to justify his aggressions.

China may have those same feelings, but they realized how to utilize the western need for consumption to their advantage. They're able to play catchup due to the lack of standards that US and others have to play by. China's looking at Russia like a cartoon steak right now, salivating at the prospect of helping their chummy ally by economically buying the country wholesale.

this is why I think nuclear fallout is almost an impossibility because NOBODY wins if it happens. And China is obviously telling Poots not to do it because it isn’t in China’s best interest.
I do think there is a big possibility of Poots dropping a tact nuke on Mauripol to gauge the worlds response and a Hail Mary to try and end the war on the spot.

That would be a mistake. Look at the price he's paying just for invading. Enough that in hindsight he might have changed his mind to attack. Maybe he's mad and does it but a nuclear attack will almost certainly be condemned near universally. A Hail Mary nuclear attack could possibly lead to the end of humanity.
