Russia/Ukraine Megathread V5

Are you saying they're not dead or has Putin ordered that dead have a new definition to hide the loses?

Of course they are not dead. It's typical Ukrainian style - loudly claim something (meanwhile, adding "supposedly", "almost certain" etc. stuff) so that western media catch it up. In their latest attempts they are being so lazy that posted photo of the completely different guy, claiming it's general Mordvichev.

Depends on: What’s the yardstick or measure?

Us in Afghanistan?

They do care a lot about their military reputation, because it's all they've got left at this point.

I don’t think so to be honest.

Seems like they just care about winning/completing objectives at any cost.

Or we’d be seeing them actually wreck shit and use their best tech, recovering bodies and damaged shit instead of letting farmers steal their tank and their solders corpses rot in fields.

If they really cared what the world thought they wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine to begin with.

Edit: what I mean is they don’t care how the world views them in terms of how we often consider these matters in the west. This isn’t a beauty pageant for them.

I think they definitely want to be seen as a nation that is not to be trifled with.

lol no shit. Yet the red army still won ww2 in europe.

Russia will also win against Ukraine, don't really see the difference. The Russian solution has always been to throw bodies at a problem until the other side gives up.

You're being fed propaganda...

Russian is 'losing', then suddenly Kiev falls

What are you not getting about this? <45>

I literally just told you my view on the questions you’ve raised as a response.

I do not believe that a countries entry requirements should be relaxed because the individual is “the healthiest person in the world” or whatever other bizarre misnomer you want to throw up.

I do believe a countries entry requirements should be relaxed for those fleeing war.

That’s the top, middle and bottom of my view, and there’s no conflict in that position whatsoever.
Yeah, I got it. It was always politics, and never had anything to do with any public health threat. It's exactly what half of us said 2 year ago, welcome to the conversation.

What this has shown is that Russia's army is under trained, has poor condition, is relying on old out dated equipment. Their air force suffers many of the same things. If this was supposed to be a slow of strength, they have failed miserably.

Russia is getting it pushed in. Embarrassing for both their military and Putins fake macho image.

Russia can take Ukraine but it is very doubtful they could hold it. I dont think many deny that Russia is capable of taking the country, the question is how costly will it be.

That's what we would be seeing if we were dealing with this idealized militant and well-organized super-power that some people have built Russia into being. The reality is that they're a corrupt, incompetent oligarchy run by a KGB clerk who was mediocre at his job, who relies on the aid of mercenaries and glorified warlords like Kadyrov to do his dirty work, because he knows that the optics of sending Russian conscripts to fight these battles would look terrible on him.

Didn't have time to follow the war today

- any footage on chechens kicking Azov's ass?
- is the number of nearly 10k casualties on russian side a hacking of their website or was it a leak later corrected? Because huge if true.

Its azov killing chenchen from what i hear
