I don't think that all young guys are sitting in pubs, some are on frontline 3 years in row, despite they are younger than 20...a lot of these <25 y.o are under 23 and still with 3 - 3.5 years in war under belt.

Cuba officially had banned citizens to participate in war in ukraine and for violation is criminal court .... with very harsh options.
Still ukr claims that they does have 40 bodies in fridges....
Ofc Russia is hiring from african countries, ex ussr countries and middle east ... a lot.

They had hired also from India a lot until Modi get mad about this. They does fear that Modi will reduce purchases of russia's stuff and therefore had endend attempts to hire next India's citizens....
 
Big problem is that Putin does have money to hire guys..his administration in december somewhere told that Putin had granted 12500 guys Russian citizenship after they agreed to participate in small special operation in Ukraine. Mainly these were guys with some skills in russian and already had military training under belt.

Zelensky too might use such method today and why not? At least today they really does have enough money to pay Putin's level bonuses and really enough to hire for example 12500 or 25000 guys with bonuses like in Russia.

Yes, ukr does have huge financial problems but they are getting next grants and loans portions etc so might afford if wants to do this in reality.

I don't think that Pope was happy or comfortable because recently Lavrov had rejected option to use Vatican as place for talks or as mediator.
 
BTW Papal institution always had offered the same since 2022 th and nothing had changed in general : ceasfire and start talks.
