Did Ukraine commit a war crime against Russia!??!

Update: 2:09 PM Eastern –

There are claims, so far unconfirmed, that Ukraine destroyed Tu-160 Blackjack bombers in the attack.

“According to the available information, the defeat of two Tu-160 at the Belaya airfield is confirmed,” Ukrainian journalist Alexander Kovalenko claimed on Telegram. The War Zone cannot independently verify that.

“The strategists were not completely destroyed, but their damage is unlikely to be repaired by the Russian military-industrial complex in its current state in the near future,” Kovalenko added. “I will note that almost all Russian strategic missile carrier-bombers of the Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3 and Tu-160 series are not produced in Russia! What Russian propaganda passed off as the release of new Tu-22M3 and Tu-160 aircraft was nothing more than additional equipment for Soviet backlogs! To date, Russia has not produced a single, completely new, from scratch, Tu-22M3 or Tu-160 aircraft, only modifications from the times of the USSR.”

Regardless of which bombers were destroyed or how many, this attack represents a major coup for Ukrainian planning and operational security. Said to be in the works for more than a year, this plan reportedly included having drones installed on trucks and then covered by what appeared to be wooden structures resembling houses inside Russia. That is truly astonishing.

Update: 2:27 PM Eastern –

Planning for this attack began more than 18 months ago, Zelensky said on X.

“Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk delivered a report regarding today’s operation,” the Ukrainian leader wrote. “An absolutely brilliant result. A result achieved solely by Ukraine. One year, six months, and nine days from the start of planning to effective execution. Our most long-range operation. Our people involved in preparing the operation were withdrawn from Russian territory in time. I thanked General Maliuk for this success of Ukraine. I instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to inform the public about the details and results of the operation that can be disclosed. Of course, not everything can be revealed at this moment, but these are Ukrainian actions that will undoubtedly be in history books. Ukraine is defending itself, and rightly so – we are doing everything to make Russia feel the need to end this war. Russia started this war, Russia must end it. Glory to Ukraine!”

Okay Ryan, the time has come. You lose and I win. Time to change your avatar or signature for 30 days.
The Russian economy has not collapse and the Russian Army is still inside Ukraine fighting.
@Ruthless Ryan
Just as I had expected. You don't live up to your commitments.

Let me help you:

"I lost a bet to San Marino. He was right and I was wrong. I'm too much of a 'chicken-shit' to change my avatar or signature."
Going forward, nothing you say will carry any weight. You are a 'classic' example of 75% of the posters in this thread.

i'm not going anywhere and will see this war out until Putin puts Russia on it's knees. And talk about what you say doesn't carry weight....you are the least respected poster on this site and there is not a close second.

The Belaya air base is 2,500 miles from Ukraine. Ukrainka, if confirmed, is even farther. Close, relatively speaking, to the Pacific. They struck deep into those fucker's territory.
An air base? Please. Nice propaganda to make it sound like it means something.
Ukraine's Neptune missiles can hit Moscow. Why doesn't Ukraine hit military targets in Moscow? Maybe even the Kremlin.
Why does everyone get so excited about Russian planes and ships being destroyed? Is that going to give Ukraine an advantage in this conflict? How about taking out a whole Russian Division on the ground (soldiers)? Now that would count for something in this conflict. The Ukrainian Army continues to shrink by the month.

Coming from someone who said they would honor their bet.
Do I care what you and others think of me? No. I am not in here for a popularity contest.

$500 drones taking out bombers costing around US $ 26.28 Million.

That's one amazing Return On Investment (R.O.I.).

I like the simple way they did it, put them in trucks or whatever other method to sneak them around and then release them on valuable targets that will be hard to defend to far inside Russia. I'm sure the defense systems will have an impossible job to defend against this not to mention most systems are closer to the front.

Actually all these models cost more than 40 m...
even ofc they are cooking " books " to hide real production expenses.
MiG 31 non export version : considerably more than 40m$.
Tu 22 these : too, very expensive.
Tu 95 and Tu 160 they doesn't produce anymore ...when produced, were very expensive....
AWACS type A 50 too are very expensive and it isn't possible to build these quickly, regardless how much $ you have: they can't produce radar for such stuff quickly......

Yes, destroying your enemy's planes and ships is beneficial. This should not need to be explained.

BTW I think that they copyed Iran approach.
Iran loves to use trailer trucks with stuff like 20 ft , 30 ft and 40 ft containers for military purposes...
For example to launch drones. Specially designed container size " box " , and when roof is " opened ", racks with drones is rised and container might launch 5 -6 drones.

Ofc mainly relatively small drones with internal combustion engines...

They and North Korea does have for example improvised Grad type 122 mm launchers well camouflaged to look like casual civilian trucks. Ofc number of tubes usually is lesser than 40 like in most common Grad launcher but still...

Moscow does have good air defense and I don't believe that Ukr Neptune does even have 1000 km range...

More openly info about tests before 2022 th was 280 km range with 150 kg warhead.
If so, then with the same missile body size and the same engine model used....it isn't possible to extend range till 1000 km....

Okey, if to talk seriously with different engine model and specific fuel mixtures ofc considerably longer range than 400 km might be achieved but 1000 km?¿
