International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

They completely obliterated Russian strategic bombers fleet, a fleet Russia can't replace.
A fleet Russia does not really use for fear of being shot down.
You do realize these are bombers Russia is using for launching cruise missiles right?
Yes. How often? Compare it to ground-to-ground missiles.

I would suggest anyone responding to a guy who is arguing the point of thousand dollar drones destroying almost half of Russias fleet used to fire longe range missiles into Ukraine, costing hundreds of millions of dollars, as meaningless in the war, to stop responding to him.

Everyone with a brain is currently talking about how today was a game changer in war moving forward, as this operation has effectively made multi-million dollar manned aircraft obsolete.
I think most people just rag on him these days. He just likened it to Pearl Harbor. I don’t know how you could take him seriously

Yes, destroying your enemy's planes and ships is beneficial. This should not need to be explained.
Spoken like someone who wasn't an 'American' logistics veteran who went through a Rangers school and doesn't know that you shoot down drones with your fighter planes, armor and artillery. Were all drones eliminated? Mission accomplished! 5D chess...

No kidding, and how does Russia protect it's air bases from now on? They will likely have to move them back further which makes them less effective. Hopefully UKR can use this type of attack to hit weapons factories and various other valuable targets.

I don't get your point.

Russia came into this war with the argument that they need Ukraine to secure its borders, now you claim that they losing a massive amount of strategic bombers is no issue because they don't need them anyway?

Is this your tacit approval that Russia never cared about NATO aggression?

Pure insanity!

I love the Russians swearing in the background and saying what the hell is he(probably a trucker) going to do in the future if AI/robotics can now do this...

Got to hand it to Zelensky here that was a crafty move. But he may of just crossed the Rubicon n point of no return . He may of just cost Russia billions but what did it really accomplish. You think Russia gonna say okay were beat an go home? He didn't poke the bear Ukraine just slapped the bear on the ass with hot iron . When they gather themselves no telling what Putin is going to hit back with.

No, Russia came into this conflict to keep Ukraine from joining NATO. It also came into this conflict to support the Russian ethnic minority in Eastern Ukraine who were being brutalized by the Zelensky regime. Ukraine has never really had a real democracy - it is a corrupt government.

The attack involved 4 Russian military bases, and 41 planes destroyed. Do you not think Russia has plenty of bombers parked in other locations? Again, how is destroying planes, ships, and oil refineries helping Ukraine get its lost territory? The whole point of victory for Ukraine is to recover lost territory and keep Russia from moving west. It has done neither through this attack. It will only get more innocent Ukrainian civilians killed by Russian missile strikes. The air war over Ukraine has been almost non-existent. Russia has approximately 181 bombers. That is roughly 3% of their Air Force. The United States has 141 bombers. Missiles are a lot more practical.

Priceless!
Get ready to be shitted on by the liberal, TDS, left leaning pro-Ukrainian posters in here.
You can't say that in here. People don't want to hear the truth.
Good post. The sad part is that innocent civilians will pay for these actions.

What are they going to do? Invade the country they've already invaded?

Why does Russia needs to keep Ukraine from NATO if NATO isn't a threat according to you?

Russia lost around one third of its strategic fleet and i assume a lot of them are rotated in order to keep readiness at acceptable levels.

This would be like if the Houthis managed to destroy one third of US B-2s, B-1s and B-52s, it would be a massive loss.

Classic Russian mentality "winning is measured on how much suffering is inflicted".

If the stated Russian goals is to expand its security buffer zone vis a vis NATO because they feel "threatened" this war is a massive failure.

Ukraine has shown that even while losing ground they can inflict these massive losses on Russia and the Russian military degradation is irreversible, meanwhile Europe is entering a new arms race.

I don't think a single good thing going on for Russia at this point.

NATO is a threat to Russia.

How is it a failure when Russia has already taken 20% of Ukraine?
While the Ukrainian Army keeps shrinking, Russia is adding two Divisions of soldiers a month to this conflict.
Ukraine has shown that even while losing ground they can inflict these massive losses on Russia and the Russian military degradation is irreversible.
Massive losses? 41 planes is now a 'massive' loss?
The Russian military degradation is irreversible? No, it is not. I think you are confusing Russia with Ukraine. The Russian military industrial complex is doing just fine.
...meanwhile Europe is entering a new arms race.
...that will not do shit to end this conflict.
I don't think a single good thing going on for Russia at this point.
. Ukraine has not joined NATO.
. Russia has 20% of Ukraine.
. Russia has 700,000 soldiers in theater while Ukraine has only 250,000.
. The Ukrainian Army keeps shrinking while the Russian Army keeps growing.

41 strategic bombers which Russia lacks the capacity to replace as they no longer make those is indeed a massive loss, specially when its part of their nuclear triad.

I was never in the military or logistics....but anyone worth anything will tell you wars are won and lost on logistics....if you can't feed your machines they are mere hunks of metal....Ukraine destroying refineries limits the amount of fuel Russia has to fuel their Ladas, T34s, S300s trucks, various bomber and fighter planes, etc.....Ukraine destroying refuel planes for Russian strategic bombers limits how many and how far Russia can deploy their nuclear capable bombers......

Look I get it, Russian donkeys are very capable (and I am sure you're very proud of them) but even they have their limits...

Edit:

I am shocked you're admitting Ukraine destroyed 41 planes....I guess Russia is not having its bots and puppets deny the losses...
