I see no way they can realistically hold the territory they control so long as Kiev, and the missile batteries in and around Kiev, remain with Ukraine.

It's easy to say the word "peace" and put yourself high on the moral mountain, however the reality is you are very naive on how Putin works and why the reason UKR didnt sign a fake peace deal that was made to put a putin puppet government in and take over UKR in a different way. The majority of Russians living in eastern Ukraine hate the rest of the country and their political policies toward ethnic Russians living in Ukraine. The oppression they have been put under. They would rather live under Russian control. I don't know if you knew, but Ukraine is a democracy in name only.

In Ukraine, ethnic Russians constitute approximately 17% of the population. This invasion is just proof that these people have always maintained their loyalty to Russia after the breakup of the Soviet Union and were never loyal to Ukraine and never considered themselves Ukrainians. Yet they still dominated the Ukrainian government until the ethnic Ukrainians finally rose up in the 2014 revolution. There are similar problems with ethnic Russians living in Latvia, Kazakhstan, and many other former Soviet republics.

Russian advances? They have been stalled? That is news to me. Why does Russia still hold 20% of Ukraine after 3 years of war?
Why hasn't the Ukraine Army pushed Russian forces back to their 2022 or 2014 border? After all, Russia has a 'paper' Army (donkeys, scooters, crutches, etc.) and Ukraine is fighting with the most modern western military weaponry. Yeah, those 60- and 70-year-old Ukrainian soldiers are doing very well in the fight.

If UKR is losing why cant they push back the 70 yr old UKR soldiers? UKR has had minor counter attacks in the East and Russia isnt steam rolling through no matter what BS article you show.
