Ukrainian army psychiatrist arrested on $1m corruption charge

Ukraine has detained its army's chief psychiatrist for alleged 'illegal enrichment' charges related to earnings of more than $1m (£813,000) accrued since the start of Russia's invasion in February 2022.

In a statement, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said the man sat on a commission deciding whether individuals were fit for military service.

The SBU statement did not name him - however, a man called Oleh Druz was previously identified as the Ukrainian Armed Forces' chief psychiatrist.

The SBU said he owned three apartments in or near Kyiv, one in Odesa, two plots of land and several BMW luxury cars, and investigators searching his home also found $152,000 (£124,000) and €34,000 in cash.

The statement said the man did not declare the property, which was registered in the name of his wife, daughter, sons, and other third parties.

He now faces ten years in jail for the alleged charges of illegal enrichment and making a false declaration.

There's a weird thing where people want Ukraine to not be corrupt but they have to do that without publicly arresting people for corruption.

It would be interesting to see what the corruption arrest statistics look like going back the last 20 years. Scummy ass move during wartime.

Like I said before it will continue, Trump is dumb but he's not stupid he has been briefed on the situation inside Russia and knows it's not good and that Putler isnt holding the cards when it comes to negotiations . He will still demand on getting his 4 Oblasts while getting other concessions as well, he will be impossible to deal with and Trump will see this and not "bend a knee" to Putler as he knows he doesnt have to.

Old Lavrov does wants that international community should recognize Crimea, Zaporozia, Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk oblastjs as part of russia.... stuff even Trump can't fultfil....nor Ukr too.

For example when Ukr had bragged that they had captured russian tanks, trucks and other kind of machines...they often were able to show real stuff and not only for YT. Real one...

While at least 50% from this stuff was not damaged and Ukr were not able to show POVs from these crews...

Later started to admit that a lot of tanks and trucks they had collected....abadoned cos kleptocrats didn't had delivered fuel, lubricants etc. Guys ofc in panic cos 0 fuel or like this and had run away....

Usually russian tanks does have 3 mechanisms for smokescreen laying.

1 st is to inject diesel fuel in engine exaust tract in order to create smoke....well developed stuff since 1960 ies ...

2 nd is to use these cylindric items in the front of turret

3 rd is ability to attch cask type stuff in back of tank...these might create damn a lot of smoke.


However at least 2 nd and 3 rd solutions are using....cables....usually with copper wires...insulated ofc...

Georgia and Armenia also surprisingly had rapid increase of new fresh registered companies and sole traders after february 2022 th. Notable in IT field and cos parralel import ....business, nothing special.

There is one thing most likely nor U.S nor Ukraine or Russia will be happy.

Dombrovskis doesn't trust nor U.S nor Ukr ...absolutely.
Most likely he will reccomend Ukraine to start implement austerity measures and wartime economy. He most likely might agree to cut EU financial support in form of grants for Ukraine and attempt to press on small loans.
With U.S pump really will not be happy : plain and simple text: EU should mirror all duties, tariffs and import fees for stuff imported from U.S. including weapons, software licenses and ad services etc...
