Especially if we do know that financially valuable is to transport for long range high worth production with long storage terms...exactly thing dubass mining industry might provide.

It is not worth to transport for long range some lignite or medium grade coal, while it worth to do this with antracite, high quality coal coke highly valued for metallurgy industry and heating or at least high quality coal usable to turn this into coal coke with low expenses.

If we compare for example to order wood to be used for heating from location far away from your area it is different thing if compare if you need high quality wood charcoal : stuff highly valuable for pharmacy and chemistry industries not only usable for heating....
Something like this is with a lot of mining industry production.

Donetsk oblastj mainly is producing coal usable to produce high quality coal coke for metallurgy industry...
Stuff really worth to transport and usable for long term storage.

I had exp with hard fuel for heating and if I had to accumulate something for heating I most likely had opted to purchase and properly store antracite, charcoal and maybe coal coke. This stuff if properly stored will be the same after 10 years...

Unlike sub bit coal etc alike stuff.

I don't use this stuff today, more electricity, wood processing remainings and still I do have wood charcoal a bit.
Ofc diesel as reserve for generators... a bit.

If about mining industry and defense one from biggest Ukr mistakes was to lost Soledar.
It is where easily some brigades might be located in tunnels together with ammo and weapons like in safespace.
Soledar had world top level salt mines...they were valued i world top 10-20 by size and it was very huge financial and military damage for Ukraine ...for long term.
While for europe not so important because both Poland and Germany does have more salt mining potential than Ukraine....

There are big differences between Soledar and other coal mines in Donetsk and Luhansk oblastjs. Not only Soledar does have damn a lot of deep mines with very large batches of mining tunnels.

They unlike coal mines doesn't have dangerous gases and therefore doesn't have explosions risk.
More than this, these salt mines does have low humidity levels and relatively constant and bearable temperature regime.
Therefore they are really usable to locate troops and tecnique, ammo etc.

Unlike with coal mines, Soledar had parties with organ played, foreworks and stuff for tourists with open fire stuff to watch.

I know one gentleman, he had been in Soledar before 2014 th... in these salt mines.
I don't remebmer how deep underground these tunnels he had been were.
He is smoker.
