I expect this Trump/Putin meeting in Alaska today to be short and nothing to be accomplished. The fact that Zelensky is not present is laughable. I don't know why Trump feels he can mediate the situation and bring the conflict to an end. He can't. Russia will continue with the war until it has achieved most of its goals. Trump said he will know withing the first 5 minutes where things are going. If things go well, the meeting will be long and have a lunch or dinner at the end. For Putin, this is a PR stunt to prove to the world how Russia is trying to end this war. They will end it all right, when they have achieved most of what they came for. Zelensky, on the other hand, will not agree to anything and continue to fight. I fight he will lose in another year or less.

They didn't fail. It was planned that way. Draw massive amounts of Ukrainian troops to protect the north and Kiev. The Ukrainian Army took the bait and the country lost 20% of its land (minus Crimea) to the east.

It does not matter. With the Ukrainian Army shrinking weekly, it is only a matter of time before it becomes combat ineffective.

Tell me more about Ukrainian desertions and casualties. Noone seems to want to talk about that. Also, the issue of fresh recruits. These 3 factors will be the downfall of the Ukrainian Army.

Not to mention the country has now been under a military industrial complex mobilization for over a year. Making shells, tanks, drones, and artillery pieces. It has the support of China, North Korea, Iran, and India.

Ukraine on the other hand is loosing soldiers and not replacing them. Soldiers are not being rotated. It's Army is becoming combat ineffective. Problems within the ranks. It has to beg, borrow and steal whatever it needs to fight. Much of what they are getting from Europe is going into the black market. Soldiers are tired of fighting and the civilian population is tired of war. Zelensky has lost credibility inside and outside of Ukraine. The Ukraine of 2025 is much, much weaker than the Ukraine of 2022. The fighting spirit is dying. Soldiers and civilians are worn out. Just as Russia had planned from the beginning. The US and Europe cannot keep funding this war.

Putin wants the whole country. He wants, generally, just to take as much as possible from whoever he can. Ukraine was supposed to be conquered years ago, and then onward to Moldova, etc. Your clumsy, transparent attempts at crude rhetorical framing aren't working on anyone; Russia doesn't "win" based on San Marino's shifting claims about victory criteria.
