International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

Lancets on fire today, a CAESAR artillery leaves the chat

Anyhow, absolute numbers are somewhat irrelevant. Neither Russia, nor Ukraine will launch mass armored attacks anymore. Both failed badly doing this.
Hence it's unlikely Russia will run out of tanks any time soon.
Will have to wait until summer to see if this is true. The logic is sound but I kinda still envisage a few more Leroy Jenkins charges from the Russians.

This was in my algo at the gym today and I listened. Definitely some interesting points.

Could be a russian asset but the CV makes me skeptical but never know:

Some NATO members consider sending sending troops to Ukraine.

I find it hard to believe, any EU government will essentially sign their death sentence once their soldiers are back in coffins.

Unless of course there are still idiots believing Russia will attack Poland, Denmark etc when Russia can’t even take Donbass in 2 years.

Besides, without the U.S., none of the European militaries are ready for the realities of todays war, not only they don’t have enough Air Force nor the air defense systems to get air superiority, they can’t mass their troops without being discovered and they are absolutely not ready for the drone war.

Russian and Ukrainian militaries are by far the strongest and battle tested in Europe

Yes, I’d agree Poland is probably the closest to being able to actually perform on the battlefield, the rest of the EU simply has empty arsenals for a long war

Poland has war time experience and did better in Afghanistan then the US to some degree. They can also fight on a NATO standard, plus look at the size of they're tank force...

leo 2 of many variants inlucuding 2pl, Abrams m1a2, K2, and PT-91s?

yeah that's not gonna be fun to deal with.

during the soviet union, polish army was probably some of the more loyal fighters and some of the best of the satellite states

I don't understand Europe problem but recently a number of Countries including people like Estonia have commited to give 850,000 rounds of 155 ammo rounds and precision munition to Ukraine. Europe just pasted a 60 billion dollar aid package to Ukraine even with resistance from Hungary. US is just further damaging their relationships with Europe and Canada over the dysfunction in Washington.

Europe promised to 1 million 155 shells by end of year. Problem is Europe's industrial capacity will not allow it and France insisted the agreement had to include s stipulation that it must be produced in Europe.

So instead of buying the ammo from allies like South Korea, Ukraine has to wait until like 2025.

Also this other guy....we long ago know that for psy ops often are used retired former officials etc.

Ofc also some % of euro politicians while not openy telling this wants ukraine to sign eveything Putin will demand.
Then they might kick back refugees to remaining ukr controlled area back, remowe sanctions and will be happy.

We can't purchase in South Korea ammo and send this to Ukraine due to re export clauses.
We might purchase and keep in our countries etc.

Europe does have 15 factories for 155 mm ammo, there ofc some time is needed and political will to sign long term contracts.

It is possible to purchase from Turkey but France and Greece doesn't want this.

France once told that might supply 3000 shells per 1 month. LOL, really they does produce only 3000-6000 shells each month?

Aviation.
Ukraine isn't even top 10 in europe and they are begging even for AN-2 kukurizniks and Mi-2 transport heli...not alone to talk about jets.

Actual reality is that Ukraine had gradually deMilitarized it's aviation and air defense 30 years in row....
Number of airframes reduced, modernization mainly in loud PR talks, old airframes....
Ukr Mig 29 and Su 27 = old airframes and unlike russian ones, usually not modernised ....
Su-25 without main upgrades - Azerbaijan at least refubrished not on paper and installed laser tagging pods etc for these....

France is letting greed get in the way. Pretty pathetic.

I think pre-war Russia had a chance to overrun Poland but nowadays there's no way. They would need to amass at least 100,000 soldiers, 1,000 tanks. They can't do it while fighting in Ukraine and with their tank force destroyed.

Well, I guess the warmongers idea is that Russia will attack Poland when Ukraine is done.

For Russia, attacking any of the NATO members is simply idiotic because that would likely mean Kaliningrad is fucked

With 1000 tanks in no case might be enough.
Poland does produce and had produced Anti tank mines....since 1960 ies ( then they had been ordered to do this by Kremlin ).

The main scenario was that first defense line will be East Germany and next main defense line Poland etc.

Also their attitude about possible war was in much higher level than Ukraine had.
One example: they had even refubrished old KUB launchers while Ukraine had left them forgotten....
Also they had kept in working condition these 23 mm autocannons while Ukr usually left them to accumulate spiders nets....
They even does have Shilka 4x23 mm upgrade projects, for example better radar and now modern thermals and add some 4 MANPADS....type missiles....
