International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

Doesn't looks that for trump ukr now makes any sense.
Soon will be some increase with inflation in U.S and ofc most likely they will tell voters that for this is responsible Biden.

Another failure for Ukraine.

The American Excalibur missile, known for its precision, is encountering problems in Ukraine due to Russian electronic interference, as reported by the Bulgarian Military portal. The effectiveness of this advanced U.S. missile has been questioned by Yehor Cherniev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Committee of the Ukrainian Supreme Council.

Excalibur missile's precision hit by Russian jamming in Ukraine

. American tank fails - M1 Abrams.
. German tank fails - Leopard II.
. American air defense system fails - MIM-104 Patriot.
Ukraine is turning out to be a nice test ground for western weaponry. The best thing to come out of this conflict is how effective drones have now become in warfare. Cheap to build and highly destructive.

Which Western Weapons Are Losing in Ukraine? In this video, we explore the ongoing U.S. military aid to Ukraine since 2022, totaling over $68.5 billion. While this support has been vital in strengthening Ukraine’s defense, questions arise about its effectiveness on the battlefield. Do these technologies meet expectations, or are they falling short? Join us as we delve into the performance of key U.S. weapons and what this means for the conflict.

Excalibur has been jammed for like a year now not really new info, ukraine stopped using it long time ago due to hit percentage being less than 10 percent ( was 6 if i recall correctly)

America stopped providing them already in 23 due to fact they had stopped working

Heres news about it from may 2024

Thanks.
What else has not been working well in the conflict?

Thanks.
What else has not been working well in the conflict?

Basically all drones used before or during 2024 and all heavy tanks but thats simply due to how war has changed

Conserns both sides btw

Personally find it interesting how high tech stuff is vulnerable and how well old stuff still works, bradley is a killer

Speaking of old stuff. Still a great rifle since 1947.

“Of all the weapons in the vast soviet arsenal, nothing was more profitable than Avtomát Kaláshnikova model of 1947. More commonly known as the AK-47, or Kalashnikov. It's the world's most popular assault rifle. A weapon all fighters love."

There's an interesting technical report by the Russians on how the Bradley compares to the BMP based on tests they did with captured examples. It's in Russian but auto-translate works reasonably well.
They concluded that the Bradley has better firepower, protection, and ergonomics, but mobility & range isn't as good.

They also did tests with captured Leopard 2A5 and various Ukrainian tanks. They were less than impressed by the Leopard, it was outmatched by the T-90M in almost all areas.

Id take this with a grain of salt, remember Russian export numbers are down due to piss poor preformance of theyre weapons in combat(im away they arent using them properly either due to shit training)

BMP doesn't compare to a bradly at all..

Id say the T-90M and 2a5 is probably more equally match

anything after that id put my cards on the leo 2a6 and beyond. Russian does know how to make a tank, but my god they can not get the T-14 out the door to save theyre lives

I think they had rethink and have started to rework the round to be able to get passed jamming. i know theyre doing that with small diameter bombs launched from rockets. They've been using the older models

Leopard 2A5 was actual for production in 1990 ies. ...
T 90 M is actual production mainly since 2020 th, newest it's versions are since 2023 th....

Obiviously west definitely didn't had rushed to send to ykr these L2 A7tanks. Maybe cos they are expensive, new models and possible to sell them for good price easily...

Abrams ykr had get 31 M1A1SA : export version even in 2000 ies allowed to be sold to countries like Morocco, Egypt etc...

Excalibur is very expensive and obiviosly it is more difficult to rack up Excalibur production rate rather than 227 mm stuff or HIMARS.

While 227 mm missiles are expensive, most likely more cos profit.

They doesn't experence such high load during start like tube arty rounds... therefore smart arty rounds isn't eay and cheap to produce.
Equipment for navigation and " steering " for 155 mm shell also is smaller than for 227 mm missile.....so more difficult to produce....

Besides jamming and spoofing...russia quickly had managed to reduce their effectivity by simple solutions....the same simple stuff that for HIMARS etc.....

Initially their soldiers had posted a lot in russian social networks, incl pictures etc.
Ammunition had been more often stored in large dumps.
Technique was lesser camouflaged and more often appeared dense columns etc

Russia had reduced soldiers usage of social networks with pics etc....
They had ordered to use more smaller ammo storages instead of lesser number but larger size storages.
Large storages relocated far from frontline.

Reduced large columns etc.

Ordered to improve camouflage measures....

These measures alone had reduced damage they get....even before jamming and spoofing era in small special operation.

Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 14, 2025

Russian shelling
According to the General Staff, over the day, Russian forces carried out 86 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, dropping a total of 117 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy launched 1,114 kamikaze drones and conducted nearly 5,000 artillery and mortar attacks. (no signs here of Russia running out of artillery shells - this is in one day.)

Frontline situation (a lot happening here - large number of Russian troops):
. Kupiansk
. Lyman
. Siversk
. Kramatorsk
. Toretsk
. Pokrovsk
. Novopavlivka
. Orikhiv
. Prydniprovskyi
. Kursk

* Additionally, yesterday afternoon, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces informed that Russian forces were focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kursk directions.

ISW, April 14th, 2025.
Key Takeaways:
  • Russian forces appear to be leveraging redeployed elements of the 8th Combined Arms Army to close the Ukrainian pocket southwest of Toretsk and level the frontline as part of ongoing Russian efforts to attack Kostyantynivka from the south.
  • Russian forces appear to be intensifying their use of armored vehicles throughout the theater after mainly relegating armored vehicles to fire support roles and relying on infantry assaults to advance in late 2024 and early 2025.
  • Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Siversk and Toretsk and Russian forces recently advanced near Kupyansk, Siversk, Toretsk and Pokrovsk.

There is one reality for Ukraine: they are Kurds No2 or South Vietnam from 1970 ies after famous Paris Accords. Where Kissinger was 100% correct about U.S.
The same.

While for murica today some Ukr is sorry for reality, like 0. Sooner ukr will get reality, sooner will be happy....at least grandkids etc from Ukr living wordlwide where cenzorship will not prevent to teach kids....like vietnamesse and afganis and kurds are doing when they are talking with kids what stuff U.S is in real life. Realpolitik.
