Well, remember that for Russia this is not a full-scale war, only a "Special Military Operation."
...and Ukraine had a lot of help from the West.
If Putin declares war on Ukraine, it will be a very different picture.

Will he, is the question? The consensus among russian bloggers I follow is he might try and that would secure russians a much better result in the war (clear W as they want to call it), but it would cost him losing power in the Kremlin. Middle class and elite still prefer the status quo of high quality life and someone else dying for the ruins of Donbass compared to going themselves in the trenches.

Plus there is thing that banks and fast loans companies needs to get payments from debitors: private companies and average joes ofc.

If Putin will announce full mobo then not likely they will pay....so Putin will have to see real one financial crisis.

Snakes oligarchs might use such situation in order to milk matushka more and delay tax payments. Declare companies bancrupcies etc...why not.
In worst case directors and accountants, board members etc will get punsihed somehow but ...." simple shareholders " will be happy....
 


This is like Travis, AFB in California getting hit.

This is HUGE for Ukraine and a real black eye for Russia.

Putin should have done it the moment Ukraine took Russian territory and targeted Moscow with drones. I think he will probably hold out for another year and see how strong the Ukrainian Army is. Also, to see how much support Ukraine is still receiving in another 12 months. Either way, he is not losing power. Putin will most likely be in power long after Zelensky is gone. The Ukrainian Army continues to shrink by the week. Russia has millions of men in reserve ready to be called into active duty.

I've been talking about Ukraine's updated Neptune missile for a while now. It was confirmed weeks ago.
When do you think little man 'Z' will be dropping one in Moscow.
By the way, this 'upgraded' missile with 1,000 km strike range has upset the US and Europe. Both did not want Ukraine to have this capability. Somewhat like when Israel developed its own nuclear bomb. This raises the stakes in this conflict. I doubt Russia will accept any kind of true 'peace deal' now. So, yeah, another brilliant stupid move by Ukraine.

The Kremlin has long broadcasted Russian demands for territorial and security concessions beyond the current frontlines as a return on investment for the Russian people to justify the war effort to its domestic audience. Putin and other Kremlin officials will likely continue messaging to domestic audiences that the war in Ukraine remains a protracted Russian effort and that Russia will not make peace in Ukraine quickly.

Little man 'Putin' is going for the duration of the conflict. Putin and Russia will die on this hill if they have to, but I don't think it will come to that. I think Zelensky and Ukraine will die on their hill first.
