Limbo has gone woke!
No, that is not how I view things. It would be nice if Ukraine was able to expel the Russians from their country. I never did favor the invasion. I've been looking at the conflict for 19 months now and trying to get a true picture of what is going on on the ground -- the military conflict. It is not easy since there is so much bias towards Ukraine. I read an article earlier saying that Ukraine had already taken back 54% of loss territory. I checked with the current ISW information, and it does not say anything about that. A bullshit article. There has not really been much change to the map in 10 months. Russia is still holding roughly 18% of the country. 94% of what it originally captured.

Thanks. Good video. Proves my point. Nothing much I didn't already know.
I would question some of his numbers and also the fact that Ukraine being on the offensive will lose more soldiers than Russia.
From 6:03 on he touches on two good topics: Experience and training. Loss of experienced soldiers being replaced by poorly trained soldiers which in turn will lead to more casualties for Ukraine.

Nice Spin.

UNVERIFIED! but have made the news
"At the Chkalovsky airfield, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating the sabotage, as a result of which two planes and one helicopter were significantly damaged on September 18, 2023. The event caused quite a bit of hysteria in the higher military corridors - government planes, so-called "doomsday planes" and special planes (reconnaissance planes) are based at the airfield."

From Swedish news last night

"
Ukrainian special forces were likely behind a series of drone attacks against Wagner-backed RSF forces near Sudan's capital Khartoum, a CNN investigation shows.

A Ukrainian military source says the operation was carried out by a "non-Sudanese military". When CNN asks if Kyiv was behind the operation, the source replies:

- Ukrainian special forces are probably responsible.

CNN writes that they have not been able to confirm Ukraine's involvement in the attacks earlier in September, but that they follow the same pattern as Ukraine's drone attacks and that clips from the operation show Ukrainian text.

The channel writes that the information means that there is a possibility that the war in Ukraine extends "far beyond the front lines".

Sources in both the US and Sudanese military are surprised by the channel's information. The Sudanese source says he doesn't believe them."

Zelensky administration creates more and more problems in relationships between them and Poland.
Ukraine is thinking that Poland and their society are their slaves?
Polish PM and president will have discussions with U.K PM, Biden, Austin and adm Bauer & Stoltenberg + with ECB and IBS.
This stuff will not be reported openly and additionally there is stuff with IMF and WB.

Poland didn't had yet signed october material and military aid package for ukr.

USSR small special operation in Afganistan during 10 years had used ~160 000 mandatory military service conscripts from Ukraine.

USSR had suffered losses in Afganistan in form of deaths 15000-16000 and permanently disabled till end of life ( on permanent disability benefits ) ~ 50000 - 51000 young lads.
Number of injured lads isn't known because during first 6 months guys healthcare had been paid from USSR MoD budget.

Stuff that a bit triggers me from selfish spin and report king is stuff that I had to deal with ppl who had served in Afganistan for USSR and NATO. In person not in internet. Some from them were my friends in real life and now are in another world. :(

The story I was referring to. Milley never fails to disappoint and being wrong. He was actually a good officer in his younger days. The corruption in DC has destroyed the man. Of course, it is IBC Ukraine, so take it with a grain of salt.
. Ukraine already liberated over half of land captured by Russians, U.S. top general says (msn.com)
Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, Ukraine has already liberated more than half of the Russian-occupied territories, as U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley says during a briefing after the Ramstein meeting. "Ukraine continues to achieve success. As of today, Ukraine has already liberated 54% of the occupied lands," Milley said.

So, let us see. The current occupied Russian part of Ukraine is roughly the size of the state of Ohio. So, Ukraine has taken back 50% of a land mass roughly 22,400 sq mi? That is way impressive. The map below shows twice that numbered under Russian control (red).

You can see all the current Ukrainian land mass taken back from Russia here - Eastern Front:
. Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, September 19, 2023 | Institute for the Study of War (understandingwar.org)
Roughly 3 to 6 miles South and East in certain places. It does not amount to much. The price in casualties for Ukraine has been enormous.
I'll give credit for Ukraine in the Northern campaign in the early stages of this conflict. Maybe Milley is referring to that. A nice spin to the story. Like 'Spin Marino.' Looks like San Marino and Mark Milley do have something in common. Something that happened 18 months ago. That was an amazing pushback of Russian troops - over a large area. Somehow it has not worked in the Eastern front. Russia is still making advances, but this part is not covered in the news. So, why was the Ukrainian Northern campaign so successful and the Eastern campaign such a failure?

Really surprised they would risk the resources for this.
Agreed!
For once. Hence why their push to the East will fail. They can't get their priorities straight. Why give two-shits about Sudan when Russians are still inside your country.

It's not a "spin", you hack. Russia seized, or tried to seize, huge swaths of land. Ukraine pushing them out of those places doesn't fall by the wayside because it goes against your narrative of Ukrainian offensive futility. Christ on a crumpet, man, pull your pants up. You must have had your eyes closed and eyes plugged when they were driving Russia backward last summer/fall.

'hack?' What has @Strychnine said about that.
'Christ on a crumpet.' Oh, @Strychnine is not going to like that little remark. You don't know him very well, do you?
You just can't help it can you? Always having to insult or ridicule to try to make a point. Does it work or make you look stupid?
If we are talking about land grab from 18 months ago, let us go back to land grab from 2014 - Crimea.
So, you did not answer my question. Why so successful in the North and such a failure in the East?
What about last summer and fall? Why has it stopped? At this stage of the game Ukraine should have pushed Russian forces all the way back to Russia. What went wrong? Ukraine was doing so well, but now they are doing so poorly.

Direct hit at 2:30. Thank goodness for the mosaic filter.

No kidding, not sure to believe it, now is not the time for revenge. All hands should be on deck with these next few weeks being very important.

Ukrainians may be illustrating Russia's lack of control. Russia has not been able to maintain peacekeeping force in Azerbaijan. It has been unable to secure its own air space. Ukraine is also illustrating that African warlords may not even be getting what they think they are...

Ukraine really is fighting a different kind of war.
