International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V12

From what I read and listen to, this is a war being fought by two Soviet era armies, largely in accordance with Soviet doctrine.

Neither side has air superiority because of the strength of the other sides anti air capabilities.

I don’t see how even a 100 F-16s has any bearing on the war. Ukraine is not and cannot fight how the US does, and so what will be their role?

Interested to hear any views on this.
Ukraines current fighter jets have a radar range of 20-30 miles with their ancient Soviet shit. The f16s they will likely get have radar ranges around 150 miles. This will allow them to keep Russian aircraft and helicopters away from the front line. Not total air superiority but far better than their existing capabilities. Not to mention they integrate with all the western weapons much better.

Edit: might be KM, not miles, just going off memory

Platform to launch western supplies missiles.

HARMs can be used for long range SEAD.

AMRAAM can be used to surpress Russian choppers from safety.

And more platforms for JDAMS and cruise missiles.

So with the recent attacks on Russian territory inside Russia, its quickly escalating towards nuclear war. I am now predicting that if Russia continues to take heavy losses, nuclear war is inevitable.

USA might think they have the upper hand now, but when China attacks, the US and NATO are going to shit their pants.

This is a real possibility, and anyone who things this isn't possible is an idiot. It's getting closer.

<YeahOKJen>

Go back to post about your piss bottles instead.

Where and who is China going to attack?

ukriane is slowly making its way more towards Western style of fighting. Its a hybrids between the 2.

The 47th is fighting more like US army

The Russians are using what appear to be 1980s soviet era fighting.

The biggest Ukr military aircraft problem really was reality that it was peace of shit just large number of helicopters and aircrafts while without proper refubrishment and upgrades since 1992 th.
Even if compare with Azerbaijan their air force was obsolete peace of shit.

USSR era Su-27 radar ( 1992 ) is with range 20-200 km depending from objects effective radar reflection cross section.

F-16 is 20-290 km. Depending from model and version. F-16 does have a lot of versions and sub variants.

They still got 30 to 35 su-27s which are not by any stretch bad aircraft. They're limited, due to being older models, and lacking older avionics. I remember seeing somewhere that 1 or 2 where given to one of our Defense contractors to tinker with.

i wont say those Sukhoi are bad plane, hell a lot of the problems are lack of training an corruption that prevent the VAKS from being as deadly as they were during soviet times.

Su-37 Terminator was actually more manurverable then F-16 and F-15.

Then you had Su-47 Berkut which was more maneuverable then F-22, an they almost produced it. To bad putin is an idiot ruined Mig and Sukhoi by merging them all into 1 company.

There is blood in that photo, i guess one of the crew members wasn't ok with the surrender stuff and got killed.
Apparently only the Pilot was in on it, the 2 copilots chose a different ending..

Stollen
“This rich, German fruit bread is particularly popular in the city of Dresden, where a huge stollen is traditionally paraded through the streets at the annual Stollenfest. ”
Ingredients
  • 40 g candied peel
  • 50 g glacé cherries
  • 1 orange
  • 100 g raisins, sultanas and currants
  • 25 g dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons brandy or dried rum
  • 3-4 cardamom pods
  • 7 g dried active yeast , (see tip)
  • 25 g sugar
  • 125 ml whole milk , plus a little extra
  • 275 g strong white bread flour , plus extra for dusting
  • ½ teaspoon mixed spice
  • 50 g unsalted butter , (at room temperature)
  • 1 medium free-range egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 25 g almonds
  • 25 g shelled pistachios
  • 225 g marzipan
  • olive oil , or vegetable oil, for greasing
  • icing sugar , for dusting
    1. Finely chop the candied peel, and quarter the glacé cherries. Finely grate the orange zest.
    2. Place all of the dried fruit into a bowl with the orange zest. Squeeze the orange juice into a pan, add the brandy or rum and heat to just below boiling point, then pour it over the dried fruit. Mix well, then set aside for 1 to 2 hours to allow it to plump up.
    3. Remove the seeds from the cardamom pods, then grind to a powder in a pestle and mortar (roughly ¼ of a teaspoon).
    4. Spoon the yeast into the bowl of a free-standing mixer, then add the sugar.
    5. In a pan, heat the milk until just warm, add to the yeast and whisk to combine. Set aside for 5 to 10 minutes, until the yeast has formed a thick, foamy crust on the milk.
    6. Add the flour, spices and ½ teaspoon of sea salt. Using a dough hook, combine the butter, egg and vanilla, then mix for 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
    7. Cover the bowl with clingfilm and leave in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size, about 1 hour. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and set aside.
    8. Roughly chop the almonds and pistachios.
    9. Pour away about half the liquid from the soaked fruit, then add the fruit and remaining liquid to the dough, along with the nuts. Mix again.
    10. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly for 1 minute. Shape the dough into an oval shape, about A4 size.
    11. Roll the marzipan into a neat log, about 4cm shorter than the length
of the dough, and place in the middle of the oval.
    12. Brush one long edge of the dough with milk and fold it over, completely encasing the marzipan, and press the edges together to seal.
    13. Carefully lift the dough onto the baking sheet, cover loosely with oiled clingfilm and leave to rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until nearly doubled in size.
    14. Preheat the oven to 180ºC/gas 4.
    15. Remove the clingfilm, then bake the stollen for 30 minutes, or until golden, risen and the underside sounds slightly hollow when tapped.
    16. Leave to cool on a wire rack before dredging with icing sugar to serve.

Right, but the only source for parts is not very friendly.

Do you guys think the F-16s will be enough to finally finish off Putin?

CAS type aircraft like Su-25 does have a lot of countries. Ukraine too does have some of them while they aren't upgraded like stuff Belarus and Azerbaijan or Russia does have.
Usually they doesn't have laser guidance pods and cos this can't launch laser guided bombs and laser guided air to ground missiles.

Most modern Mig -29 Ukr does have are these they had get from Poland while these are old airframes ( pre 1992 th ) and good if they will not fall apart. At least electronics upgrades had been done in 2010 ies.

F-16 will give them a chance to detect these 2 deadly little fuckers and reach out an touch them with Aim-120C(not so much the mig-31). In short, it will balance out the air war, make SEAD and Guided bomb drops a lot more effective, since smart weapons need the ability to communicate with aircraft to adjust accuracy
