You're a born comedian. This feels like moving of the goal posts (suddenly terrain only matters to the army but not you personally.)
It is not that terrain matters, they are asking for what kind of terrain they will be facing.

You mentioned being a logistics/procurement guy in the army.
God forbid. Operations and Training, S-3. One of many duties over the years.
The guys you mentioned are S-4. They are important too.

they should have accepted that peace deal in February when they had the chance.

"...but, but, we are beating Russia. We will push those sons of bitches back to their border. Ukraine will win and we will have our original borders back. The fact that Russia invaded our country obviously means we will win this conflict. We are the good guys. The good guys always win. There may not be much left at the end, but hey, it was worth the price." o_O

Well you kept asking for my resume, and then when you got it, immediately started telling people I was dishonorably discharged or only spent two years in. Now maybe you just forgot and didn't mean to slander, so whatever.

Point is, I think we're better served arguing the merits of our claims rather than measuring each others dicks, which was the point I was trying to make when describing my massive dong.
You’re not the first vet he’s badmouthed when his feelings got hurt. It’s his go to move when he’s saying something stupid and getting called out for it.

But yeah suggesting a massive airborne drop when Russia has air superiority is just really stupid

Nonsense.
So called rumours about peace deal are portrayed for mainstream media customers as just about some no NATO membership.
It is Lavrov's office propaganda for idotic westerners.

Russia demanded from Ukraine also deMilitarization.
Ofc, cos then Russia in next attack episode easily might had annexed all Ukraine.

Good " peace deal ". Seriously, just 1 step for further annexion .....
Vuala, fairy tale for idiots in west.

" Ukraine isn't proper country and ukrainians aren't nation ". Putin.

More than this.
23.02.2022 th both Ukraine and Russia had parner status for NATO.
However Russia had breached treaty with NATO to inform about impactful military activities outside from territory of Russian Federation.
Such paper had been signed by Putin and Medvedev...

Russia really " values " papers they had signed.

You’re not the first vet he’s badmouthed when his feelings got hurt.
<45>
You did the same when you got butthurt, and you too are a veteran.
Same old shit: It is okay when I do it, but it is not okay when you do it.

But yeah suggesting a massive airborne drop when Russia has air superiority is just really stupid.
Yeah, 200 soldiers is a massive airborne drop. What would that make 2,000 soldiers?
I see the idiots are finding each other and coming together. Great thread indeed.

There is one reality even without airplanes russia does have.

They had installed a lot of SAM systems in occupied areas.
Even had relocated some SAM batteries from St Pete oblastj and Murmansk oblastj to occupied areas.

Nice idea to attempt fly airplane or helicopter with paratroopers over area ' covered ' by stuff like S-300, S-350, Buk, Pantsirj, Tor, Tunguska and Shilka + shitload with MANPADS...
Really cool idea......?

Ukr still mainly does have old obsolete and not modernised since USSR era SAM systems ....
Western supplied stuff ( I mean SAM batteries ) looks that is used far from frontline to protect some key areas....

Still russia mainly had aircraft losses when they afforded to fly aviation deeper than some 3 miles from frontline....

Therefore Russia changed tactique to dropping gliding bombs when airplane is flying over zone controlled by russians....
To launch missiles when aviation is relatively far or really far from frontline....
Ukr still isn't Alepo.

So yeah, I imagine how " successful " might be today to drop large paratroopers groups in area controlled by Russia or Ukr...

I will never poke fun at anyone's MOS. Everyone has a role to play.

However, if someone is not a life long infantry, I am wary of listening to their opinions on tactics as they feign authority.

I have worked with multiple former military guys and not all are made the same. One was a ranger for a decade and then merc for another decade. The other was a military police guy who got in at 34 and barely lasted a year in SK (being a glorified security guard) due to medical while being a general all around fuck up.

The difference in their skillset and knowledge is enormous. So please forgive me if I can't take what you say seriously after you offered completely illogical tactics that others immediately called you out on as well as claiming terrain plays no role since US military is prepared for anything. I'd honestly just tap out at this point. But there's always a another opportunity to mention something from WW1 or WW2.

According to Poland's PM in 2023 th thus far border guards managed to prevent ~16000 illegal attempts to cross boder.
It is assumed that mainly these preparators were smugglers, criminals attempting to enter EU illegally etc, while some % of these attempts most likely had been attempts to sneak in diversants and terrorists groups.

EU should be avare that high possibility that hybrid war will be increased with more actions like attempts to insert terrorists, criminals and diversants masked as " refugees " etc.

& EU borders with Moldova, Ukraine and Russia & Belarus monitoring and control should be tightened immediately.

The biggest mistake NATO is making right now is trying to force Ukraine to fight according to their military dogma.

Ukrainians have proven incredibly smart, flexible, cunning, etc. Either give Ukraine what it needs or let it do what it does with what limited weapons you give it. I am sure Ukraine would have a different plan with 100 F35s or F16s and long range artillery that could hit every part of Ukraine and Russia.

Lmao why would it matter what terrain they're facing if terrain doesn't matter
You literally called terrain one of the "magic words", but are so far up your own ass that it's impossible to back down from any stupid position, let alone a monumentally stupid position.

I am Portuguese. Portugal and Spain are very similar in languages and culture. Spain has attempted to annex Portugal many times through force and failed. The only time they took over was through marriage. The Portuguese king didn’t had a heir so the Spanish king inherited Portugal. The Portuguese didn’t like being ruled by the Spaniards so they revolted and became a sovereign nation again. So I sympathize with the Ukrainians wanting to fight until the end or at the very least make it a purific victory for the Russians. This notion of people wanting the Ukrainians to just let Russia take over because languages and culture are similar is fucking crazy in my book.

The only way Ukraine will win is through causing attrition to all Russians in occupied areas. Making it too difficult for Russia to maintain any presence there like they did in Kherson. NATO countries really need to fast-track the increased production of long ranged artillery, so they can give Ukraine what it needs without worrying about depleting their own stockpiles. Attempting to push the frontline is a fool's game. We saw Russia failing at this all winter. If their overwhelming firepower was only able to gain a few kilometres, Ukraine isn't likely to fair any better deploying similar tactics.

Approx like this.
Ukr needs in reality IMHO to prepare the same type defenses as Russia had and sorry, they had years for this and did almost nothing.
Not alone to talk about HOW these bitches had " prepared " def for Berdyansk and Mariupol.
Idiots nothing more.
If russians weren't idiots obsessed to take all Mariupol ASAP, they might had moved further immediately by leving not more than 50% resources to keep encrirclement and slowly starve them out.
Total idoiots.
A lot of examples how dumb are russians and ukr btw if to be fair.
Severodonetsk debilodiods win with mobo crematorium delivered ..
.cool.
Idiots with Bakhmut meat grinder.

Etc....

Now....
According to Ukr MOD they during last 7 days managed to take approx 2000 meters ,( metric units ) X1000 meters area...
Approx 2 sq km2 area.
Under heavy shelling with 120 mm mortars and 122 mm and 152 mm howitzers and in dense minefields.

Mobile crematorium should be busy 24/7. :(
Russia isn't better here.

Damn.

I've heard some senior analysts in Washington mention this: Ukraine can't do combined arms like a Western country (and to be fair, how many Western countries have shown themselves capable of doing so on a large scale? It's a list of 1 nation) and, anyway, don't have the air superiority that the U.S. would count on to make such a scenario work.

Ukraine is a USSR successor military at heart; they are good at artillery warfare, but (as you say) have also proven themselves to be flexible and creative on the battlefield. Let's listen to what they think they need and what kind of fight they think can get them the win. Not uncritically, but with an open mind. It's honestly heartening to hear people in Washington saying this, and I'm pretty sure some people in the administration hear them.
