Twice if you count 1980. China is hosting the next winter games. You probably aren't old enough to to know that China didn't even attend the Olympics until '84 in LA.

China has COMPLETELY overhauled their approach for the upcoming Olympics after 2008. That was a PR campaign. But the Bird's Nest lies mostly unused. This is in a country that has been building ghost cities. They don't want more of this, so they're altering their approach for sustainability.
