Rumor: Brie Larson Out as Captain Marvel

Sounds like a bunch of hate. I'm not the biggest fan, movie was ok. It did really well financially, highly doubt they would replace her

I don't really think she was a significant positive factor in the box office. That movie had a lot of momentum from the Marvel universe and a movie of a dog going poo for 90 minutes would have at least made $100M with the Marvel logo at that point.

Did'nt seen the movie (or well over half of recent Marvel stuff) but iirc general sherdog consensus was only good thing about her were

The nice thing about Captain Marvel is that a single throwaway comment about her absorbing energy or wtv her power is all you need to recast.
She pissed me off with her dumb tweet about Stan Lee and she is somewhat of a self righteous bitch. I made no effort to see Captain Marvel.

Eventually, my teenage daughter was interested in watching it. She has no interest in the MCU, but some of her friends liked the CM film. So I watched it with her. I thought it was excellent, but even more surprising to me, my daughter loved it.

Despite her annoying real life persona, Larson is really an outstanding actress, has a real old school screen presence and I thought her action scenes were totally believable. My teenage daughter has now rewatched the film several times alone and with friends. She has now gone back and watched other MCU films.

As attractive as Elizabeth Olson and Scarlet Jo are, I honestly don't think either one can hold a candle to her. The MCU franchise will be lessened without Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

Hmm. Interesting. I guess the female demographic might actually be hugely in favor of Larson. If that’s the case, I don’t see them making any changes. The movie did do big numbers and no led has ever been recast in a MCU movie to date anyway.

I didn’t really find that Larson had much charisma in the first movie, but I don’t think she was suppose to. She was good in Infonitu war and endgame, I think. Got the feel she doesn’t take no BS as a Captain.

i thought she was great in captain marvel. no need to replace her.

I thought CP was weak. Thor and CP to me are the weakest franchises in the MCU universe. Love Captain America, Irone man and BP but Thor and CP are just weak. Also love Brie as an actress but never got used to her as CM and dont think she is suited for that role.

This is true by orders of magnitude.

@Anung Un Rama represent.
@Dragonlordxxxxx provide cover.

I am one of the few Sherdoggers who really enjoyed Captain Marvel and likes Larson a lot.

I am a mark for the marvel movies I admit it, I have watched all of them and frankly I love all them, even Thor 2, and I hope they don’t replace Larson, I thought she nailed it in Cap Marvel and I don’t really care about her politics or her rant about white guys or whatever that was. This is how I see Larson:

And always will see her through the lens of those two videos

LOL, Doomcock and this is BS.

The movie was a complete success at the box office. I think they have pulled back on her being the face of the MCU, but I doubt they have any reservations about her being Captain Marvel.

I also saw the film, thought it was okay, but one of the weakest films in the MCU. I didn't view her as a great actor or anything, I find her wooden, but admit she's very attractive.

maybe marvel needed to make space for ellen page's new gigantic penis

Meh, won't believe it until I see it. The first was a huge financial success and wasn't really better or worse than several other of the Marvel movies.

Also, I can't stand Overlord DVD or Doomdong or whatever.

Disney bought hundreds of thousands of dollars of tickets. It was a sham. She turned off fans. She is hated by all MCU cast members. She is a disaster. She is toxic.

I'd be fine with it, as long as there is a decent explanation in story for that.

Just checked, it made over a $1 billion.

lol at thinking Disney felt the need to buy "hundreds of thousands of dollars" worth of tickets......guys we desperately need to increase the box office by 0.1% here!

inb4 $500m is still hundreds of thousands.
