Rumor: Brie Larson Out as Captain Marvel

I find it ultra shady that Cap Marvel was the only MCU movie where there were allegations of “conspiracy to inflate numbers,” and it so happens to be the movie starring internet scapegoat Brie who a lot of people like to project their anger with the left/identity politics onto.

Basically I see it like this- people who went in with an ax to grind because they don’t like Brie’s Twitter feed were hoping for the movie to tank so they could say Brie is box office poison, get woke, go broke and whatever else. The movie was a resounding success- and why wouldn’t it be- the final scene from the absolutely huge Infinity War hyped it up and it was perfectly placed six weeks before the release of the hugely anticipated Endgame- so those same people hoping for its failure started in with the- “oh there were empty theaters by my house,” “theaters were giving out tickets,” etc etc

reminds me of when I was hearing DJT would take Pennsylvania cause there were more lawn signs for him than Joe.

if Disney went through all these machinations to make sure Captain Marvel looked to do better than it did, why wouldn’t Warners have done something similar for Justice League where an entire franchise was contingent on that film being massive. It appeared to have tanked because it tanked.

Captain Marvel appeared to have grossed a lot of money because it grossed a lot of money.

Not everything is a conspiracy.

There were sold out theaters that were empty. Sure it made money, but no the claimed amount.

And Larson's fellow MCU actors can't even hide their disdain for her.

You know, I’m something of a comicbook expert myself.....

Scarlet Witch can literally alter reality. She’s her own Reality Stone in the comics. And it appears that they are giving her that kind of power with Wandavision. I like it personally. It gives an easy and plausible way to introduce the Fox properties into the MCU.

As for Brie, Doomcock throws a lot of shit against the wall with his “sources” and hopes something sticks. It would be SJW suicide to fire her for “reasons”.

Brie larson unlikable? Shocking.

{<hhh]

An academy award-winning actress generates 1.1 billion dollars in the box office and they're going to fire her because they're "losing confidence". That sounds like the expertise and wisdom of YouTube.

They'll fire her because they can replace her and her disruptive attitude with literally anyone else, and the franchise will still bring in a billion dollars.

I'd imagine it's tough not to get a big head while starring in these roles, and thinking you had something to do with their success. Meanwhile, they could make the next Avengers movie starring Jack Black, Rob Schneider, Lisa Lamponelli, Gilbert Godfrey, and Geraldo Rivera, and it would still bring in over a billion dollars at the box office.

bullshit.

The casting is one of the reasons the MCU is as popular as it is.

Yeah, I've talked about her range of powers at length with the people I tagged. I probably should have tagged you, @Aegon Spengler and @KnightTemplar also.

Even ignoring her insane powers in the comics, just look at what's she's done in the films. Sure, Captain Marvel's shown us a lot of brute force smashing starships, but Wanda was kicking Thano's ass so hard he had to call in an airstrike.

She held him off while he had FOUR infinity stones.

Wanda's vengeance moments were some of the most badass things we've seen in MCU movies. This is one of my favorite moments from any superhero film.

Larson built nothing. She simply has "stolen" what others had built. According to Hemsworth. That was his word.

That’s like saying the guardians cast didn’t build anything either because other movie came before them.

Her movie made a ton of money and the casting aspect is one of the things the fans love about the MCU

Argue with Mr. Hemsworth. He is the one who said she stole the torch.

And Guardians was great and built its own universe. It was legit. Let's see what CM sequel does.

Guardians had a great cast with great chemistry. CM had a cat and a uninteresting Mary Sue.

bullshit.

No, it's mainly the quality. They have a good track record of always delivering a decent experience, even with the most unlikely of projects. Of course making initial good casting decisions is a part of that, but they're at the point now where they can slap a Marvel logo on just about anything, and have people show up. "Black Panther 2" for instance will still be a wild success, even though the star of the franchise just died and won't be in the movie. The stars are not selling the tickets. The brand is. Out of all of them, I'd say the only truly irreplaceable actor is RDJ as Iron Man. The rest could easily be replaced. Shit, just look at the revolving door that is the role of Spider Man. Nobody cares who is playing Spider Man. "Spider Man" sells the tickets, not Tom Holland.

Yes the equality is important but the casting of the MCU is what sets them apart.

their casting has been perfect. It’s something the fans notice and love about the MCU.

And yet made over a billion dollars. Talk your way around that

I doubt this is true.

It seems to me that the MCU is putting a lot of effort into a 'get woke, go broke' strategy. We're gonna have Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel and Ironheart all vying for the title of biggest Mary Sue.

Some of the other stuff looks interesting, I'm pretty excited about all the Spiderman rumours.

WandaVision looks cool. Sam & Bucky. I'll be checking out She Hulk.

I'd be up for watching anything with the Netflix guys.

Hopefully they'll keep the SJW stuff seperate for the most part, and not have them dominate the crossover events.

It seems like there is so much stuff on the slate, some of it will be awesome and some of it is gonna suck.

TBF, Disney bought up literally hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tickets to inflate CM numbers!!!!!!!

Some virgin 40 year old on the internet even said cinemas were sold out but all the seats were empty!

Oh they did. How do you know that.

It was set inbetween Infinty War and Endgame the 2 reacord breaking films and rumor was CM was going to play a part in the resolution of the series. Would be interisting to see it perform at the start of a phase.
