Rumor: Brie Larson Out as Captain Marvel

It's claimed that Brie Larson might be out as Captain Marvel with the role rumored to be recast in the MCU.

The rumor comes from the Overlord DVD YouTube channel, Doomcock, "the future ruler of Earth," who previously said Disney is losing confidence in Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

Around the time of the release of Captain Marvel and The Avengers: Endgame, it was also reported Brie Larson didn't get along with the cast and that her future in the MCU was in doubt.

Recently also saw YouTuber Grace Randolph offer that Brie Larson is unlikable, that the Captain Marvel directors didn't deliver (they're not directing or writing the sequel) and that Kevin Feige thinks Captain Marvel is weak.

We can also add that it appears as if both Brie Larson and Captain Marvel will not be involved with Feige's MCU Phase 4 plans, which look to be all about Elizabeth Olsen and Scarlet Witch creating the Multiverse. Rumors have offered Larson and Olsen don't get along. Interestingly enough, Feige took back comments that said Larson's Captain Marvel is the most powerful character and the future of the MCU, with Feige now stating Olsen's Scarlet Witch is the most powerful in the MCU.

People are still interested in marvel films?
Who knew....?

I don't buy it. I feel like there was a narrative being spun about the other MCU cast members not liking her (look at Renner's face in this interview when Brie said that!) and that people became armchair psychologists with about the same level of accuracy as those that break down UFC weigh ins. (OMG Jones was staring at the floor rather than looking at his opponent during the face off. Shook! Will lose for sure).

She's been in quite a few films and worked with good directors and I've never heard anyone allege she's difficult to work with. Feige going all in on Wanda as the most powerful makes sense in that Wanda is probably not only going to be responsible for multiverse shenanigans, including, perhaps, the introduction of the X-Men.

She pissed me off with her dumb tweet about Stan Lee and she is somewhat of a self righteous bitch. I made no effort to see Captain Marvel.

Eventually, my teenage daughter was interested in watching it. She has no interest in the MCU, but some of her friends liked the CM film. So I watched it with her. I thought it was excellent, but even more surprising to me, my daughter loved it.

Despite her annoying real life persona, Larson is really an outstanding actress, has a real old school screen presence and I thought her action scenes were totally believable. My teenage daughter has now rewatched the film several times alone and with friends. She has now gone back and watched other MCU films.

As attractive as Elizabeth Olson and Scarlet Jo are, I honestly don't think either one can hold a candle to her. The MCU franchise will be lessened without Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

Makes sense..her time in endgame was cut down

With Doomcock as the source I give this rumour one credible hulk out of ten

Guy has made a career out of clickbaiting people that hate Disney Star Wars, MCU, DCEU or Nu-Trek into watching his videos where he satiates their hatred with rumours about said franchises failing to the point that he’ll just knowingly report stuff that couldn’t possibly be true.

I remember earlier in the year he posted some bs rumour about Seth McFarlane buying Star Trek from cbs, and it turned out the entire thing was fabricated by 4chan trolls that were trying to prove Doomcock will spread any stupid rumour whatsoever without checking it for even the most basic kernel of credibility.

I hate nuTrek and Disney Star Wars, but Doomcock is a pathetic liar.

Edit: also, the basis of the rumour In the first place, that Feige didn’t mention Brie and Captain Marvel in the phase 4 announcement is flat out wrong. Go to 7:15

Posting Doomcock rumours should be

Not sure I do either, from what little I'v seen "Doomcock" does seem to be playing to an alt rightish audience who unsurprisingly loath Larson.

The cast hate thing especially does seem a bit far fetched especially as its doubtful she would even be working with a lot of them in the future, espeically in a stand alone film.

I can see Marvel paying attention to some of the more reasonable negative feeling around the character though, just sticking your head in the sand and looking to write that off as only right wing cranks did not work well for Starwars and they could point to even biggest box office numbers.

The main weakness was IMHO simply that the character wasnt very interesting dramatically and came across as quite obnoxious, basically Tony Stark but without any of the flaws and forced self awareness.

Sounds like a bunch of hate. I'm not the biggest fan, movie was ok. It did really well financially, highly doubt they would replace her
