i agree. their forwards were stronger, and their backs held their own. NZ backs still looked unreal when they got the ball, but hey didnt get it much. NZ looked like worried little boys often in the second half, and took a ton of penalties in desperation. They got away with a couple of forward passes, i thought, and England had some opportunities go south. Score couldve been worse, honestly.

Hoping for Wales-England, but Wales has been really poor, imo. Expecting a valiant defensive game from the Welsh, where they are on the backfoot and eventually lose, having knocked on a couple of times when they could have counterattacked to even it up or go ahead. Theyve been frustratingly stupid, and I really miss Warburton, Jamie Roberts and also seeing Leigh Halfpenny in every game at his best.

I bet the kiwis fckin hate us English right now. Literally mugged them for the cricket World Cup, and now this.
Wales next week please

^ No hostility. Not in rugby or cricket for the most part.
I think the banter is great especially between the English, Aussies, and New Zealanders.
Both the Aussies and Kiwis will put a bounty on our heads for the next time we play. Especially New Zealand.

It's interesting that here in Tokyo, there seemed to be a big Kiwi presence from only the last few days.
That would suggest most of them were holding out from the group stage to make the trip for the semis and final.
Probably gonna be a lot of final tickets going for resale.

Wales v SA, tough one.
I think Wales just might step up and win a close one.

Not sure who has the better chance to win the Final out of these two. SA possibly man for man slightly better than Wales, especially with Liam Williams out. But much as SA love to beat England, they can’t match Wales’s all-pervading obsession with the English, and that always gives Wales a chance.

Still, as far as this SF game is concerned, neither look to be at their peaks, Wales definitely not at their absolute best.

Clearly I'm not international rugby captain material.
I though Wales should take the penalty and not go for the scrum and they score a try off it and it's 16-16.

So Wales end up 4th in the world cup as NZ will stuff them on Friday and England have to be favourites vs SA in the final.
This semi was no where near the quality of the England vs NZ one.

England by a muth fuckin landslide in the finals. SA were mediocre at best. England will look at this semi and the match against NZ and have all the info they need to beat SA.

We don't need to hear "brave Wales come agonisingly close" narratives. This was their chance to make a WC final and they blew it against a mediocre SA team, after almost doing the same against a poor French team.

England will rightfully be big favourites v SA. On current form England could win it really comfortably. That said, when it comes to finals at the RWC, it's often a lot tighter than you would expect.

England won't take SA lightly.
A solid gameplan, keep Faf out of the game as much as possible, and play with that relentless aggression, then it should be enough.

It's been interesting seeing some of the big teams looking somewhat unimpressive throughout the tournment.

All things considered the standard has been pretty low all things considered, imo. England and Japan seem to be the only teams who peaked at the right time.

SA have been nothing special at all, and they are in the final.

Without a doubt it's been huge for Japanese rugby.
Against SA, they really were in a win-win situation: topped the group beating Ireland and Scotland.
England have played, thus far, to their expectations and have arguably played the best ever game of any England team.
