Didn't expect a win against England, but would have liked some more consistent physicality and not to get bullied by mauls and in the scrum. A few flashes of good rugby, and Marcel Brache is a beast.

Where are all the College Footballers and NFL/CFL rejects ?
15s isn't 7s, too much technical ability needed to just get by on raw talent.

I think, from the highlights that i saw, America looked better than Canada.
If that's any consolation.

England get the two"easiest" teams out of the way.
The Argies will put up a fight.
And the French will fancy their chances.

That USA number 11. the Hawaiian guy is it possible for us to buy him on loan for the Wallabies to replace Reece Hodge?

merica are MUCH better than Canada at present.

Canada just haven't invested in their set up.

The Wallabies playing the Welsh should be a good game this weekend.

I’m looking forward to this but unfortunately going to miss it. The cycling road race world championships are this Sunday and I’m attending.

I hope the Aussies give them a spanking

Yeah, Wales vs Aus should be a good game.
Think the Aussies will edge it, close game.
Ireland should handle the Japanese.

It's an odd atmosphere here in Japan.
The first weekend and build up was great, then this week hardly any coverage at all and not much on the news.
Weird as the news channels only seem to remember the country is hosting the word cup when Japan plays.

My thoughts:

- Argentina VS Tonga
Argentina needs points and I can't see them not securing the bonus. Half-backs have been sacrificed following France match, and they will focus on producing a more consistent match than the first. I don't see Tonga pulling the upset, unless a massive brawl occurs 5mn into the match sending all Pumas to infirmary.

- Japan VS Ireland
I didn't see Japan pulling the upset before the world cup, now even less after their first match. Unless Japan fields 15 samuraïs, it should be a comfortable win for Ireland.

- South Africa VS Namibia
This would be a victory for Namibia if they manage to score at least one try and get less than 50 points on the scoreboard.

- Georgia VS Uruguay
This comes too soon for Uruguay after their first match, even if both teams will have to rotate heavily. Comfortable win for Georgia after they rip Uruguay's pack to shreds.

- Australia VS Wales
Close one. I will give Wales the edge although Australia tends to wake up during world cups.

Interesting post. This also happened here (NZ) in 2011, the hype died down after the opening.

Right now the talk around the water cooler is still the World Cup.

Tonga could have mounted a comeback had they not made so many mistakes.

Japan really pushing Ireland toward a cliff

@Frank23 five star match?

They indeed fielded 15 samuraïs.
