Well controlled by England, even though the contest was mostly over after the red card. Still not at their best, but steady improvement is to be welcomed. Will they throw the France game to try to get an easier path to the final? Seems unlikely, but couldn’t blame them if they wanted to maximise their advantage.

Very harsh, but that’s the new rule. I’m not sure that would even have been a yellow a few months ago.

Its a shit rule.Tere should be a clear difference made between accidental and intentional high tackles

Purely from a selfish standpoint I hope we don’t-that match is forming an integral part of my stag weekend next weekend so I’d appreciate a full-on battle!

Nice planning - I do love a good international when you’re out with your mob.

New Zealand beat Namibia 71-9.

Not much to say here.

There needs to be some changes to the headshot rules and TJ's try was a forward pass.

Yes.
And which part of that Try of the tournament are you suggesting was forward? Because the TMO looked at it from the moment TJ passed off the ground to the grounding. (where he was out of bounds, and it would have been called a no try if it had been sent up to the TMO as such.)

The behind the back pass (final pass), I was the only one who seems to think so.

It was spectacular but shouldn't have been a try. Not that it matters in the bigger picture of things, just my opinion.

Who knows! All this bs high tackle cards for players falling into an opposition tackler is awful.

Would've loved it to be ruled that way. Picked 50pts for the margin in the pool.

I'm actually well over the World Cup already. I think the refereeing has been decent but the rules relating to high tackles are laughable.

Especially goal line/in tight, when a guy burrows low, you almost can't help but to go touch the shoulders. I liken it to wrestling. When someone shoots one you, you want to get over the top and sprawl which gets them into the ground ASAP. That's all you're trying to do in those in tight situations, get them into the ground ASAP so they don't go under you and score. In tight, it's even hard to get your hands up and if you do, you hit the shoulders (so lifting type movement).

I don't actually know what defenders can do in that situation.

We will be watching touch rugby soon.

Typhoon on the way could fuck everything up on the weekend.

Typical France turmoil, maybe trying to replicate 2011.

This may end in final, or with a crushing defeat in quarter.

Yeah, France have a nasty habit when their backs are to the wall... When the coaches, captains, fans, players every hates each other, they seem to play better.
