Rory vs Lawler really took whatever enjoyment of fighting out of Rory.
I'm not sure Rory was ever fully invested in MMA in his heart, he was good at and it was a means to money. Earlier on his career he seemed to enjoy it much more than anywhere near his last few years in the sport. He seemed very uninterested in the sport after his UFC run. I think this was the driving factor of the UFC not wanting him anymore, they knew his heart really wasn't into MMA anymore. No too mention the UFC had a hell of a time getting Rory do anything extra in promoting himself or his fights.
