I agree. Very one-sided. Considering Cyborg's heavy, sloppy footwork and lack of one-shot power, she would be flung through the air in short order, and amputated with little trouble. At any weight. Borg can juice, but she can't win. She knows that if she takes this fight, she gets annihilated, and nobody will even care to bring her back to Invicta. As long as she keeps talking about Ronda and pretending she's gonna cut weight, she'll remain fringe relevant. Without Ronda, Cyborg fades into the obscurity her freakshow act deserves. Without Cyborg, Ronda remains the biggest thing in the sport, male or female.

Most "real fans" I know have seen Ronda lay forceful abortions upon the heads of the entire division to the point they had to feed her a can (Correia) to kill a couple months, and move up a contender (Holm) to keep up with her wrath of murder. So Cyborg's top win was losing 2 rounds to 1 to Tate when Tate tapped her out. Her #2 win is considered a "joke" opponent and was only hyped because she was hot. Wasn't Porto a champion at 128? Then we are to Baszler who is a journeyman and Yamanaka who never won a single fight outside of Japan and lost to Edianne Gomes who Ronda tapped out in 0:25.

What does it prove that she fought at some other weight class right afterward? Rumble fought at multiple weight classes and also did terrible at the lightest weight class. He beat Andrei Arlovski at HW and lost to Josh Koscheck WW. So does this down grade Arlovski just because Rumble made bad choices on his weight classes? Why don't you provide something credible that proves anything about a fighters choice of weight class BRO. lol.

She has fought the best that is available in the world for that weight class. You can beat it up if you want, but nobody seems to be in a hurry to move up from 135 pounds to join it.

Why would girls who could make 125 put on weight to fight lesser competition in a lesser org for less money and less exposure?


The better question us, why doesn't Cris lose a little weight like she said she 100% could do, her nutritionist said 100% she could?

She would make much more money (possibly millions) than the $50k she makes in Invicta. She would have more exposure, her Invicta ppv sold 5,000 where Ronda is the #1 draw in all of mma. She would get a chance to fight the girl she is obsessed with, who she is so jealous and butthurt over.

^ This. She is crazy not to do it, because like it or not MMA is a business and a fighter should maximize their earning potential because the clock is ticking. The incentive is for her to come to Ronda, because that is where the money is at. We may find it tarnishes some supposed legacy as fans, but it's not our career, so we don't get to make the decisions for them.

As previously stated, you are talking about a fight that occurred when Cyborg was 20 years old. We could pick out all kinds of fighters and go back to their career start and find a loss or decision win. Jose Aldo also has a loss if we go back to 2005. And it is to a fighter who never won a belt and lost a lot of fights to nobody's so does this mean that Aldo can't become GOAT if he somehow beats McGregor? Absolutely not. Aldo became a lot better fighter through experience and training.

Why do new fighters start out in other organizations before they get to the UFC? Because they need a record that makes an argument for a contract. And what better way to make yourself a name than beating Cyborg before downsizing to enter the UFC? If she is that weak, somebody would have beat her by now but they haven't. We can make claims of steroids or whatever, but either way she is the best in the world at 145 pounds and she has beat the best in the world at that weight class.

I am not going to argue with you on the weight issue because I am on your side on that issue. As previously stated I am NOT a fan of Cyborg. My argument is on the issue of her ability to decimate her competition at 145 pounds. So far the only excuses people can use to attack it is fights around 10 years ago when she was green.

It wasn't that Cyborg lost to Paes, it is that Cyborg has spent her whole career fighting 125 and 135 pounders that is the point.

I am not a Ronda hater. In fact you can check the other 100 threads that are very similar to this one and you will find that I am usually arguing for Ronda. But facts are facts, and there is also no sense in the Cyborg haters making lies to make a point in the other direction when it is not needed.
