She fights the same now. When was the last time she destroyed a credible opponentinside a round?
Walk forward-> throw sloppy hooks
Also, how would she ever get better fighting Akano, Yamanaka, Muxlaw, Finney, Tweet, Van Duin?
Fully Roided Guyborg wasn't a ko machine. I know the truth hurts but reality is she's overrated due to muscles and weak comp. Kinda like Reem.
I do agree that Cyborg hasn't fought the greatest competition around, but, talking about her walking forward and throwing sloppy strikes, Ronda did a lot of the same shit in her fight against Bethe. She didn't walk forward, she ran forward and threw sloppy strikes and knocked Bethe out.
Cyborg may not one punch her opponents, but she beats the shit out of them until the ref stops it or until their opponent simply can't take it anymore.
I've never thought Cyborg's striking was nearly as good as a lot of people make it out to be, but she's still a very good fighter.
I believe Ronda beats her, though. Cyborg gets in a lot of grappling exchanges. Anybody who watches her fights can see that. She pushes them to the fence with strikes and ends up in the clinch, beats them up there and goes to the mat and beats them up there. This gives Ronda a huge chance, if Cyborg gets in any grappling exchange with Ronda like she has in so many of her fights, Ronda has a huge chance tossing her on the mat.
Cyborg is a very competent grappler, though. I don't know if she'd get submitted as easily as Ronda's past opponents 'cause Cyborg is no blue belt on the mat like many of Cyborg's past opponents.
And about Reem/Bigfoot, Reem was outclassing him the entire fight until he lost in the 3rd round. I really felt like Overeem was way too passive in that fight and didn't take Bigfoot that seriously. He thought he was just going to run through him. Although he did clearly take the 1st and 2nd and outclassed Reem everywhere, he eventually got put away in the 3rd.
Overeem today would put Bigfoot away in the first round with ease, in my opinion. Not that he's gotten oh, so much better, just that he fights more intelligently and I don't think he goes in with such a big head anymore. He takes his opponents more seriously now instead of thinking he's invincible. That loss to Bigfoot was a big wake up call.
When watching Reem/Bigfoot, I felt Reem showed he truly is the better fighter. He outclassed Bigfoot until he lost. He was outclassing him on the feet and on the mat rather easily, then got put away very early in the 3rd. Besides Bigfoot getting that brutal combo off in the 3rd, he didn't look very good against Overeem at all. He looked pretty bad. Overeem is, in my opinion, a better fighter and always was even though he lost. Sometimes the better fighter doesn't always win, though. That's just the way it is. Reem kills him easy today.
