Yes, Ronda was tricked into believing she was a good striker (I blame Edmond, Rogan, and Ronda herself for that nonsense). But her problem wasn't that she fell in love with striking. It was her takedowns. All of her takedowns came from the clinch. But if you avoided the clinch with her, she had no clue how to get it to the ground. In other words, she had great judo but zero wrestling. And high-end fighters can generally avoid judo throws. Also, she didn't have good enough striking to consistently close the distance and initiate the clinch.
She has bad knees so learning a power double was never on the table, especially when she thought she could toss or KO any woman whenever she wanted.
