You know it's cool to see people giving Ronda some props for her skills. I like her fights I am a fan of one dimensional grapplers like her who are just elite at one thing and rely on it. I think it's just cool and old school to see guys like that in the UFC. I liked Matt Hughes, Damian Maia, and even guys like Ben Askren so Ronda was a cool fighter to me. I find it exciting to watch someone like that fight a badass striker because I'm on the edge of my seat wondering if they can get it to the ground or if they're gonna get sparked before they can initiate grappling.

He would have lost rematch with Hendricks. GSP definitely got the worst of it physically versus Hendricks. It became quite convenient to retire rather than finish clearly on top like Khabib. When fighter not in Top 5 at MW became belt holder it was quite convenient to un-retire. He would have lost defense versus anyone in Top 5 at MW after he won the belt. It was quite convenient to retire again.

At least Ronda had motivation to take the higher paying Hollywood job after losing badly on two fights. She clearly didn't retire to avoid opponents.

After the fight even Dana stated he thought the result was wrong (along with 16 different journalists who scored the fight). GSP's words shortly afterward were "I have to step away. Right now I have to go away for a little bit". He then retired a month or so later.

A win over anyone ranked in the MW Top 5 would have been far more impressive with no belt. And if you get a belt and side track a division as the un-ranked guy jumping over the contenders, then why not at least have one defense? But he was closed mouthed and then suddenly a medical issue is claimed and he is gone again.

As a comparison Fedor has continued fighting well beyond his prime. He has wins and loses and doesn't care. The same goes for Aldo. Aldo lost his belt and simply re-geared to continue his career. Both of these guys are judged on GOAT discussions for their Prime, not after they ended their belt runs.
