Ronda only eats 1 meal a day

this thread probably all boils down to what you define as a "meal"

eating a 150 calorie bowl of oatmeal for breakfast is a meal, but so is eating a grand slam from dennys.

eating a 300 calorie salad for lunch is a meal for some, where as the salad is an appetizer for others which is followed by another plate of food and dessert.

i love how sherdoggers are experts on not only fighter nutrition but female fighter nutrition.

dude, spare me the definitions. I have lived in these parts for years. Dairy is a luxury in these parts. Lots of poor people can't afford fish. You can go on for years just eating rice and some boiled vegetables. That's it. I have. They're pretty healthy, can do manual labor all day.

My friend, you're either lying or ignorant. What the ancient Chinese civilizations considered vegetarian included meat in the diet as long as the animal wasn't killed for the purpose of food or the meat was given to them. Buddha ate meat....look it up. Contemporary Chinese culture is all about the meat, though certainly not in the quantities available in other parts of the world. And, they use every part of the animal. Dairy plays a huge part in traditionally vegetarian cultures, including India, where yogurt is a staple, though China in the past, was not big on dairy. Particularly raw dairy is a main source of b12, and D. It's very well documented. Spend 3 minutes on google and get educated. Traditionally "vegetarian" cultures, from an anthropological view, ate meat, dairy, and/or fish.

The FACT is, without b12, you die. Plants don't provide b12 unless they've been pooped on and you eat them without washing them, but then, it's not the plant giving you the b12 ;) You cannot go years without a source of b12. But, if you want to go ahead and avoid the b12, you can look forward to fatigue, anemia, mental issues, and death.

one big meal a day is called "warrior diet"... it works great, but am sure they eat snack+ 1 big meal

Ronda Rousey

"I only eat one meal a day at night. During the day I mostly only eat berries. The great thing I eat is organic. I eat raw as much as I can. Any kind of chemicals that I couldn't find on the earth 10,000 years ago. If I have beef, it's always grass fed. Now that I make enough money to buy stuff like that I like to spoil myself."

Lol, a bunch of jealous bitches on this forum as you can see. I went through 2 more pages after your post and 5 people negatively commented about your degrees.

Because it's probably the easiest/most useless degree you can get? What's to brag about having a good GPA in something that everything can just look up on wikipedia and learn? And the guy said his studying focuses on comprehension of material, not quantity. It's not like there's anything to understand about history. It's facts, you'd have to be stupid to not understand it. And as someone pointed out, all you can do is teach history with that degree. Woop dee fucking doo, history's not even going to be a course soon, the information's too readily available

Shut the heck up about "ancient chinese" bs. There is no dairy in many parts of Asia, where I lived, dairy came from Western products. Google? lol, I've lived it, probably long before you were born. May be you ought live without Google. May be that was why it took you a while to come back.

Millions of people in Asia live on rice and vegetables. And no, it's not some esoteric "culture" it's right now in the cities. Lots of poor people. Oh dude, thanks for the entertainment :-)

No one in Asia lives on rice an vegetables exclusively. Your ignorance is vastly entertaining though. Keep it coming! Couple of Asians here cracking up.

BTW, if you read my post, you'll note I mentioned less dairy in China, though by no means is it absent.

I believe it. It's the same as going out for one beer

Have any of you actually trained before? i'm an amateur muay thai fighter and after training and drinking all that water during and after that training, you do not feel hungry at all, i force myself to drink a protein shake and wait until dinner to finally eat. 1 meal a day at lower weight classes is common in muay thai and i'm sure it is in mma as well, you just do not feel hungry.

I have Muay Thai, wrestling, boxing, jitz and open mat Saturdays. There is no way I could eat once a day. Real talk you are 160-68 lbs at most right. That's you at your heaviest. Tall for your weight so you look skinny and you are weak as fuck. MT requires very little strength over all. MMA training is nothing like your MT work outs. If we don't eat we don't perform well. No energy equals no performance.
Rousey cuts weight so you can be damn sure she eats more than once a day.
Unless she is eating 2500-3000 calories in that one meal and has an American gland problem then she is playing on words.

i did the one meal a day diet. you just snack all day on protein shakes/bars, fruit like berries then pig out come dinner. It help keeps calories down. but i pretty much eat 1000 calories throughtout the day then 1500 for dinner.

1 meal and constantly snacking on fruits and veggies is feasible

If you eat one meal a day, the body will accumulate fat in order to store enough surplus in case you skip a meal. Furthermore, you will have slower metabolism due lower number of digestive cycles.

Ever wondered why athletes drink protein shakes? To make up for all the burned muscle and give body proteins to repair muscles. So you train like a work horse and eat once a day? She would either look like shit, feel like shit or what is most likely both. So, stop this nonsense about eating once a day.

Gee why did she hire all these well respected nutritionists when all she had to do was come in here and read this? Like others have said intermittent fasting is all the rage right now and several very educated people would disagree with you.

She has to eat something..

Ronda by arm-bar.

Honestly, if you were a caffeine fiend. You could get by. Caffeine is pretty amazing at suppressing appetite and giving you energy.

That doesn't make any sense to me, but I know everyone is different. If she's snacking during the day and loading up on one meal, wouldn't her body store most of that meal as fat?

Eating 1 meal a day makes your body think it is starving and it store fat not good for a fighter that cuts.
