Dude is 5'10 and missed championship weight by 0.2 pounds because HE WAS NOT ALLOWED BY COMMISSION TO CUT IT WITH ONE HOUR LEFT.

So this means he makes weight for any fight at MW except the championship fight. It is ridiculous to think Yoel would get the next shot at MW gold.

If the fight was in Vegas he probably would have made weight coz LV don't give a fuck.

But yeah, go to 205 because he is half a midget, almost won this fight, and got screwed by the commish and only came in 0.2 pounds over weight in a championship fight.

Who are these stupid people? Dana said he thought it would be good FOR A 41 year old 5'10 guy to move up 20 pounds in a weight class for coming in at like 185.2 pounds... ugh.

Nah. Missed weight twice in a row. Either go to lhw or get cut

Dana gonna have to tell him to move his ass to 205 lol wonder how long he sits on the shelf if he doesn’t move up?

DC is 5'10 39 and rag dolled LHW's like nothing, dominated a 29 year old Volkan like nothing. Yoel and DC come from similar wrestling backgrounds, I think Yoel does great at LHW imo

he's clearly struggling to make weight nowadays, why put the guys health at risk? he should move up

Fuck it, double down and move to WW so that he can keep Till in company.

I like Yoel vs Gastelum next, if he can make weight he should stay at MW

Like I said, he would have made weight for any non title MW fight and in Vegas he very possibly would have made weight.

Don't give him a title shot if he doesn't make weight. The UFC did. Yoel would only go to LHW if he was on a serious downturn in MW and did the jump to get some more fights.

PS the Rockhold miss seems like he had only 4 weeks notice for the fight...

So, some shady circumstances with both misses.

Well he's not a MW so...

Fair enough

But on the other side, 205 isn't exactly shark infested, it might be good for him

apparently according to sherdorks .2 lbs over the weight limit is absolutely unnacceptable and calls into question the legitimacy of a fight

Has he missed weight in his other fights that are not last minute to keep a card alive, or where commission wont let you get the time your allowed?

This is intellectually dishonest.

He had 6 weeks to make weight for Rockhold and missed on his first attempt by 3.3 lbs. That is completely absurd. The fight was announced to the press as a signed deal with a full month, so he knew in advance of that.

In his very next fight - for the real title - he got on the scale overweight again. This time with months to prepare. There is simply no excuse and frankly Rockhold got a very raw deal. Showing up on weight is the first most basic responsibility you have as a fighter.

This is now two title fights in a row he didn't make weight, on 6 weeks and multiple months notice, respectively. That indicates he's either trying to skirt the rules, or simply cannot make it.

If you reward him with another interim title shot, we're saying rules don't apply to Yoel Romero. It would be a great mistake.

Failing to make weight twice in a row should automatically bump you up a weight division, and you need to win to ask for a third shot moving back down.

uhm dc the LHW fucking champion is 5 foot 10 too lmao. Not even sure if he is actually that tall.

He shouldve made the weight. Excuses excuses

It's always something with romero. Haven't seen another fighter who the entire world was out to get like romero.

He was allowed 2 hours. He got 1 hour 56 minutes.

I'm concerned that if Yoel moves up, he's going to look like Daniel Cormier. He's so ripped and hot right now, I don't want to lose that.

205 is what he needs and what the UFC needs the LW division is trash
