Always liked Rogan going back to News Radio and I never understood the hate..I love how hell interview everyone from every side of the spectrum

I didn't understand the hate until right after the Spotify deal when I looked at his guest lineup during election season and saw nothing but alt-right grifters and pundits and absolutely zero interesting people, comedians, or topics. I'm not going to knock him for it, but it was transparent as fuck it was now about letting people push an agenda or product on his show for money and not just some dudes shooting the shit about things they find interesting. Can't blame Rogan for doing it, but not gonna support him either. Was fun while it lasted.

Where's the exaggerating part? Admittedly I didn't listen to it all, but it didn't hear Rogan talking about his "fighting career", as in MMA, being a killer on the streets or anything of those proportions.

His podcast has brought about many great moments and his early commentary is Good

I thought about hitting a guy in the neck once. He was doing that tough guy arms out wide douchebag posture and saying "hit me, you throw the first punch"

Of course this was in a bar full of his friends so I worked out the math on the way the situation would play out and decided to wait it out.

But there was part of me saying "you might get jumped anyway, so might as well take the shot."

I think I made the right choice because I really can't see any way that scenario ends (if I threw the neck punch)

There is a huge difference. In no universe is TKD comp considered "fighting" not even the full contact version where people have died. Did TKD for years, both point fighting and Olympic style. Nobody ever says "i got a fight coming up." Or "I lost that fight." We say "lost that match." And if you think TKD comp is "fighting" is the person a fighter than? And his few amateur kickboxing matches could be considered fighting but he usually talks about "when i was fighting" in reference to his TKD comp career(of which he was pretty good).

Just fo the record, Joe has always said that Taekwondo is not an efficient style of fighing even though he had a good level in the sport. I've always thought that was a good sign of humility, and in all the years of commentating the UFC, I barely remember him mentionning having a black belt or something. I just feel like he enjoyed practicing and obviously had a passion for BJJ.
Now, I guess he may say that to talk about both teakwondo and BJJ. And I have no problem with the idea of calling a BJJ contest a fight.

Btw, if some random purple belt in bjj says he has a fight, would you shit on him for using that word?

But I guess that's too much to ask to just have some nuance when it comes to Joe Rogan, there're just too many people who just want to shit on him every way they can. In some cases I think it's actually relevant, but this topic is not to me.
