News Rogan calls out Dana regarding Islam

The reason why this doesn't make sense is because he actually hadn't earned the title shot. He was supposed to fight Dariush, got out of that on a technicality and then refused to fight someone else.
Dariush being injured is a technicality?
<Kpop01>

I’m sure as a promoter it probably would be irksome when a fighter says he’ll take a fight but doesn’t. But it’s pretty likely there’s more to it. His team probably talked him out of the unnecessary risk when having the title shot lined up or the promotion didn’t make an enticing offer. Dana is definitely not a reliable source for how everything went down. Would be pretty on brand for him to play fast and loose with the facts to give the cash cow an undeserved opportunity.
How many people think Dana is lying about this? Seriously??

A week later but Islam, Khabib, and Ali haven’t called him out for lying? Make that make sense to me. Nuthuggers and people with zero common sense are the absolute worst.

And this is why you don’t go on social media and accept a short notice fight. And even set the terms for a different weight. Shouldn’t those negotiations happen behind close doors? Then if it falls apart for whatever reason.. Nobody knew anyway. Nobody expected Islam to throw his name in the hat. Why would they? He fought a day or two before. And I bet the UFC would never have actually called him to even offer the fight for that exact same reason. Only one fighter in modern UFC history has fought on consecutive Saturdays. And that’s Loopy Godinez.

Islam publicly accepted, and then ducked. Common sense tells us all that. But Dana is lying?? Yeah, ok.

Both Eddie Alvarez and Will Brooks were Bellator champs who beat Chandler at Bellator. It means nothing. Chandler didn't even dominate everyone in Bellator, which is a B-league. Will Brooks beat him twice then even FW Patricio beat him in Bellator too.

Islam finished Dan Hooker same as Chandler + 9 UFC fights win streak with many finishes and dominant performances and only 1 loss in his career.

He was former champ because of an undeserved title shot by robbing Khabib's title shot in 2016 and then he never defended it. Getting a majority win (not even a unanimous win) over Nate Diaz at 170 lbs shouldn't get him a title shot at 155 lbs in the first place when Khabib was there, Conor was never an established LW champion, he was a classic paper champ at LW division.

Al Iaquinta gave a better fight than Conor gave to Khabib, then Al beat Kevin Lee. He should be in the rankings too then.
Don’t matter. He was the champ and in his prime. He gets special treatment than a guy who should be undefeated in the ufc

I think it sucks punishing people for not taking short notice fights. Then again he just took one against Green. And Green I'd not worthy of No. 1 contender fights. Very weird situation

Come on, I’m not saying Dana is just making shit up, but he’s known to make misleading public statements that tell a one sided story to strong arm/punish fighters for negotiating. Maybe that’s not the case here, but Dana isn’t exactly a reliable source. That’s all I’m saying.

Yes, I’ll 100% grant you that.

But, it’s obvious in this case he is being truthful, or somebody connected to Islam would have publicly called Bullshit on it. Islam, Khabib, Ali, Javier.. One or all of them would have called bullshit.

That’s all I’m saying.

Dana didn't say Islam "ducked" - he even went on to say that he didn't know the reason why Islam didn't accept the contract (overnight). This, combined with the fact that Islam said Dana wasn't awake to make the deal (ie an adequate UFC rep wasnt available), tells us there was something about the contract that Islam didn't like but he only had until the morning to sign (so he didn't)

So why isn’t Islam, Khabib, or Ali calling him a liar if what he said wasn’t true?? A little common sense goes a long way sometimes. I don’t know what you’re laughing about. Turn the question around.. Why do people act like Dana always lies?
Why Khabib didn't call Dana a liar in 2016?

https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/...in-2016-and-gave-it-to-conor-instead.4194685/
Khabib: ''When they give me the fight in 2016, when they gave me the fight versus Alvarez (Eddie) and I signed contract, fight for the title, in madison square garden. After couple days, they give Conor fight, and they say ok you gonna fight Michael Johnson. I said no problem.''

When Dana send him a contract to fight for the title with Alvarez in 2016 then he gave the fight to Conor instead? Lmao.

For the same reason, they are still making business with Dana and they still need to make business with Dana in the future.

Dana plays these little games a lot :

Did you see the youtube clip that Jake Paul made for Dana? <{outtahere}>

You want the title shot you already earned? You better take this fight on one day notice for 20k/20k.

Islam rightfully told the Bald cock sucker to go fuck himself

The only real quote I heard and saw from Dana was the one where he said (paraphrasing, but accurate) “ I went to bed thinking the fight was a done deal. I woke up the next morning and the fight was off”

If Dana thought it was a done deal. What possible amendment to the agreed on fight could Islam and his team have wanted that canceled the whole thing? Btw, they were all in same city at the time. It’s not like Dag time doesn’t match up with Vegas time. And therefore some kind of communication issue was a problem.

Your boy went on Social Media. He accepted a short notice fight, and even negotiated the weight terms in front of the world. RDA agreed to those terms. The UFC made the fight, and Islam ducked at the last second. All of this is backed up by incontrovertible evidence.

And if Dana has lied about what happened why hasn’t Islam, Khabib, Ali, or Javier called him out publicly for lying? Do you honestly think those guys are going to let a mere matter of public slander stop them from calling bullshit on the whole thing?

But when was the last time any of those guys posted anything? A week later, but they haven’t said a word? Yet, Dana is lying??

Your hero ducked, and I know it’s a huge psychological blow, but it’s also a FACT. Own it.

Blah blah 5-6 paragraph meltdown that adds nothing new to our exchange.

Like I said, Dana didn't lie. Him and Islam both gave some info on what happened and putting it together shows there was something Islam wasn't good with about the contract.

Then why agree to the fight? An even better idea..

Why go on SM to negotiate the fight at all? Your boy went public, and not only accepted, but set his terms. Talk to the UFC and offer yourself for the fight behind closed doors. You know.. The way business is conducted. Don’t bring the public into it.

Yeah sure I’ll step in and fight twice on consecutive Saturdays.. Oh wait, RDA and the world actually took me seriously? Oops, my bad. Quack.

You can’t defend this.

Makhachev/Ali shouldn't have said anything and Dana's being his usual petty self.

Is normal.

He agreed to fight over Twitter because he wanted to...until he saw the contract and no one from UFC available to negotiate something he didn't like about it.

It's not that complicated really. But go ahead with another 4 paragraph reply repeating yourself and adding nothing new.

Why Khabib didn't call Dana a liar in 2016?

Lol. So you dug through the achives back 6 years when Khabib was literally nothing to the UFC?

But now that he is the face of his own promotion and is not under the UFC’s thumb. He’s just going to let Dana lie about his “brother”?? What about Islam, Ali, and Javier? What stopped them from saying..

What Dana told the world is not true. If you want the truth please allow me to explain.

I haven’t seen that from any of those 4 guys. I’m sorry if you are not able to connect the dots in your mind. But the evidence is before your eyes. Just because you hate Dana, or Love Khabib. That doesn’t give you licence to ignore facts and post nonsense.

Get a grip.

The reason why this doesn't make sense is because he actually hadn't earned the title shot. He was supposed to fight Dariush, got out of that on a technicality and then refused to fight someone else.
Yeah like. You really think you're the best? Fight RDA then. If youre so superior, you'll win

He AGREED to the contract. That’s why Dana thought it was a done deal and went to bed.

What came up in the few hours from agreement to the fight is off?

Do you have anything? Your boy negotiated most of it in front of the world.

Smarten up.

Bobby Green is a real man, he did what Islam was not willing to do which is take a short notice fight.
Sure but the difference is Bobby had a lot to gain and nothing to lose.

Now you're making shit up - from Dana saying "I thought it was a done deal" to "He AGREED to the contract"

So you're saying Islam backed out of a UFC contract?! Even Dana isn't claiming this.

I'd stay stop while you're ahead...but in your case I can only stay to stop.
