News Rogan calls out Dana regarding Islam

“There’s no reason for Islam to take the fight”

Yeah..other than calling for it himself
Conor calls for fights on Twitter every damn day. I don’t see him getting punished for not signing the bout agreements

We know Conor is talking shit most of the time. This fight happening was a very real possibility and the call out had actual circumstances

The reason why this doesn't make sense is because he actually hadn't earned the title shot. He was supposed to fight Dariush, got out of that on a technicality and then refused to fight someone else.
Wait what? Dariush injured himself WTF?

Bobby Green is a real man, he did what Islam was not willing to do which is take a short notice fight.
Why do you equate being some plan B pushover to being a real man? Some of these guys like to do things on their terms, but you guys are a bunch of corporate cucks by default so you don't understand what it means to have dignity.

He didn't "get out of it", Darius pulled out of the fight.

Really looks like Dana using this as an excuse to take away a TS from a guy on a ten fight winning LW streak blew up in his face and is not going to age well if even Rogan is already questioning the decision.

“So, he’s (White) punishing him (Makhachev) for not doing something stupid? Because that’s not a wise move to fight in the main event (when) you’re right about to fight for the title.
As usual though, Rogan is biased and wrong.

The point was not if it was a stupid move.
it was that Islam said yes then no.
Dana hates this flip-flop and got mad at Islam.

I don't think Dana ever intended to give Islam the next title shot anyway. I think he just said it to make Khabib happy at the time who was next to him. Didn't want to get smashed.

Imagine thinking you deserve a title shot after beating a short notice Bobby Green.
You should be mixing it up with the top guys before getting a shot IMHO.
Doesn't matter how many cans you crush beforehand.

Islam earned the title shot more than Chandler, Gaethje or anyone else includes Conor.

Just look at the betting odds at Islam vs. Oliveira and see why Islam deserves it.
Hm? I know this is the UFC section and people probably think everyone outside it sucks - but Chandler was a very well established champion in Bellator. It makes a lot of sense that he was given a title shot, why else would they bring him to the UFC?

Nah. Chandler was champ elsewhere, he earns it by just entering the ufc.
who has Islam beat?

Both Eddie Alvarez and Will Brooks were Bellator champs who beat Chandler at Bellator. It means nothing. Chandler didn't even dominate everyone in Bellator, which is a B-league. Will Brooks beat him twice then even FW Patricio beat him in Bellator too.

Islam finished Dan Hooker same as Chandler + 9 UFC fights win streak with many finishes and dominant performances and only 1 loss in his career.
How was he gifted? He was the former champ until he lost to the number 1 and GOAT Khabib. Losing to Khabib doesn’t throw you out the top 10 or even 5.
He was former champ because of an undeserved title shot by robbing Khabib's title shot in 2016 and then he never defended it. Getting a majority win (not even a unanimous win) over Nate Diaz at 170 lbs shouldn't get him a title shot at 155 lbs in the first place when Khabib was there, Conor was never an established LW champion, he was a classic paper champ at LW division.

Al Iaquinta gave a better fight than Conor gave to Khabib, then Al beat Kevin Lee. He should be in the rankings too then.

Rogan has been questioning Dana and the UFC for at least 5 years on why they don't change the gloves.

Spoiler: They haven't changed the gloves despite superior alternatives being offered.

Why?
Money.
Money is always the answer with anything the UFC does.

Dana will put Islam in a title fight if it makes the UFC more money.

Why was RDA vs Moicano still a 5 round fight? Maybe this is why Islam didn't take it. According to Islam, the UFC sent him the contract late at night and when he saw it he wanted to address a view things but Dana was sleeping lol.

Why do I suspect that the UFC mentioned nothing about the fight being 5 rounds and then tried to pull a fast one by sending the paperwork to Islam late at night.

It was well known to be 5 rounds. Actual matchup was RDA vs. Fiziev as a Fight Night headliner (5 rounds therefore). Fight was moved to UFC 272 as a co-headliner, UFC stating publicly that it was still a 5 round fight. Fiziev pulled out, replacement was needed.

It's hard to give a guy a title shot coming off a win against Bobby Green, especially when he could have fought RDA instead. Let him beat Beniel and he'll get it. Or Beniel beats him and he gets it...

It shouldn't have been taken away over this, but he shouldn't have gotten a title shot in the first place.

Wrong.
The original fight between RDA and Fiziev was 5 rounds. There is nothing that says that a short notice replacement is expected to agree to the same terms. In fact, history shows us the opposite is true.

all of a sudden Joe Rogan is a beacon of truth now because he's calling out everyone's favorite villain.

Rogan is wrong. he's getting "punished" for agreeing to "something stupid" and then backing out of it. and his "punishment" is to fight the guy he was supposed to fight anyway, an actual top 10 ranked fighter.

This. Islam should just have stayed quiet if he wanted his TS. Instead he pretended to want a fight that he didn’t want to win some social points. Well, it backfired on him when it turned out Islam was bluffing.

Why people act like Dana always tells the truth? Lol.
So why isn’t Islam, Khabib, or Ali calling him a liar if what he said wasn’t true?? A little common sense goes a long way sometimes. I don’t know what you’re laughing about. Turn the question around.. Why do people act like Dana always lies?
