Media Rogan: "Alex Pereira Had Broken Hand & Nolovirus" BEFORE Vs Ank @ UFC 313

I wonder if 'they' is Glover, him and Rogan have been pretty good friends for a long time, Rogan was the one going crazy to get him into UFC with all those visa problems etc etc

UFC is going to be desperate to make Alex recapture his reputation.

Was probably fortunate to become a champion in the first place, came along at a time where the division was in flux and he got to have glorified kickboxing matches with lesser kickboxers en route to the gold.

Don't want to hear the excuses. Throw him back in there with Ank and pray to Dana's piggy bank that he can put him down this time.

Kind of hard to say a fighter is making excuses when they weren't the one making the excuses.
Specially since Alex fought 3 times last year, preparing himself for a 5 round fight each time, while Ankalaev had a 3 times round without much activity vs Rakić. Alex fought against Jamahal Hill with a broken toe (which Alex talked only to the UFC, the UFC brought it, not Alex)... He defeated Jiri 3 months later in short notice and broke his toe again in the head kick (eh, ofc it was vicious, I felt bad for Jiri)... Then he was called on short notice and fought 3 months later vs Khalil, while Dana himself had said Alex was gonna decide in the last week if he could fight vs Khalil since he was half of the camping on antibiotics and had a broken rib (which was all covered in the video the own UFC posted, showing how it made the weight cut way more difficult, since being on antibiotics made it harder to push for the weight cut, but he did it)... And Khalil kicked him hard in the ribs once, which was why Alex back footed and touched the fence. Not to mention, he got head kicked, which he clearly felt, but Alex managed to absorb the most he could of the impact by turning his head at last moment... And that fight was in the altitude as well.

And it was officially released that he broke his hand in the many punches he threw vs Khalil... Which is why the UFC in the end didn't let it happen despite Alex initially saying yes when he was called to replace Belal vs Rakhmonov and fight Ankalalev on December. Both agreed, but Dana said he didn't want to risk knowing Alex's hands were broken and even tho Alex really wanted it, as said by DC later, Dana said " no, Iam Garry will fight"... They said Alex really wanted to fight in December because Ankalaev started to message him about taking fights vs Jiri and Hill while injured but not vs him, which irked Alex as mi Alex said he wasn't the one who said he had a broken hand, that he accepted but the UFC didn't want to)...

So to sat Dana protected Alex all this time is false, he protected Ankalaev who had only one 3 rounds fight with not much going on... And still had a really close fight vs Alex, who could have won it too depending on the scoring.

If it was the Alex who fought Jiri Prochakza second time, Ankalalev might have been cooked like Jiri was imo. Not to mention Alex is 38, Ankalaev is 32. Besides, Jiri Prochazka said 2 days ago that he re-watched the fight and he clearly thinks Alex was injured, he said his arm was with a movement that was not the best, like Alex (Jiri saying) tried to make it strong but also not hurt his arm... That's why Jiri said yesterday that he wants Alex a time to rest, since he's being so active and that he will even ask Alex to fight and "catch the Ankalaev". He said he doesn't like Ankalaev for saying things about Alex while Ankalaev was not with the same schedule and disrespecting Alex with his past in tire shop and saying over and over that he is fake Ninja or whatever, saying once again "he is just like Rakić... He has already lost. He doesn't know me, so he has missed. He is a kid, and like vs Rakić, that made it clear that even if my legs were torn I would do whatever to go through him"

Go Jiri, destroy Ankalaev!!!! Alex needs go to HW in case Jon Jones vacates and beat Tom!!! I believe he can!!

You seem to be neglecting the fact that Ank has the worst takedowns by far in the history of otherwise at least vaguely competent UFC fighters who spam takedowns. He's really quite bad at it.
He had no issues taking Jan down repeatedly even with one leg. Jan was someone who took Poatan down at will. The only reason why Poatan did well in TDD was because he used the cage very effectively to neutralize the force. That is why he kept backing up so that he could stay close to the cage and hence could not fight going back in order to avoid being taken down in the center of the octagon.

Poatan had a broken rib and was on antibiotics for half of the preparation for Khalil's fight. Fought 4 times in the same space of time Ankalaev had 1 fight. If anything, Ankalaev was protected by Dana, since it wasn't the best Alex. Heck, Jiri Prochazka said he thought about an arm injury from watching the first round from the way Alex was throwing the punches like trying to minimize the impact and that was before Joe Rogan even talked about it. UFC needed Alex to save events and then Dana looks disappointed since he expected more from Alex in a fight it was still very even and could go either way.

But I think Alex needs a time to recover well, his age too, 38, 40 matches in kickboxing. Fought injured vs Khalil... Possibly fought in an even worse condition vs Ankalaev and still made the fight almost a coin toss... Jiri imo will take the belt from Ankalaev. I think Alex needs a time to recover well, then train in a focused camping, and fight Aspinall if Jones ends up choosing not to fight Tom. I believe Alex beats Tom. In the draft kings, the only opponent who was even odds wise with Alex was Ankalaev, they made hypothetical match ups from Lionheart, to DDP, to Aspinall, and Alex was favoured over all them, with Ankalalev being the only realistic opponent to defeat Poatan. But if Poatan made the fight (if round could be scored as draw) a 48-48 while in that condition... I don't think anyone defeats him, not anyone in UFC right now...
