He agreed to a 185lbs fight..that's what it says in the contract.


The shitty contract for crappy money he has been getting. He doesn't have to fight if he doesn't want to and the UFC can't make him.


But they can pay him more to fight if they want to save the show...it's up to them.

Agreed.. WME/UFC has billions of dollars and can pay a fighter a little extra as incentive to take a fight vs someone who failed to make weight. UFC should be held hostage at times like this, not the fighters, they should not be pressuring people to make bad decisions just so a show can go on. The fighters are considered independent contractors without a union so they have no obligation to do what's UFC wants, they have to look out for themselves cause UFC sure isn't.

He can do whatever he wants. So can the UFC. Lets say he refuses this fight and destroys an already pretty bad card. The UFC doesn't owe him a title shot. They could re sign Kendall Grove since he has been released from Bellator, book him vs Rockhold, and stick his bitch ass on the next prelims.

Dana is petty. Don't put it past him. That little bit of extra weight doesn't mean shit anyway. He's already talking about moving to LHW, he will be bigger than Romero anyway, and he wanted Werdum at HW. Take Romero's part of the purse and do that shit, sucka.
 
If he wins this negotiation he damn well better win the fight. Otherwise he is totally fucked.
 
Pretty weak hostage attempt. They won't do him any favors in the future since he isn't a huge ppv draw.
