Robbery at Apple California

I'm with you on the small stores stuff in which I am a firm believer of people working needing to stay strapped, and having an able security team there as well.

People owning small businesses really need to think this stuff through. One camera that isn't turned on half the time just won't cut it, and it never will.
They don't have often don't have money for security team. You are also expecting the security guard to risk their lives. Eventually if this type of shit keeps up then stores will start operating behind a glass cage like a liquor store.

That whole small businesses have InSUrAncE to cover losses isn't quite true. They are often underinsured and struggling to begin with. They don't report thefts because it's not a crime under a certain amount of worth in terms of cash. They are also scared insurance will just drop their total coverage if they report too much. The riots really gave people the wrong idea when they pushed people > property rhetoric. This issue is more of a mentality thing vs actual crime. I honestly don't know what the solution is.

I'm not american, and most of what i know of the US comes from sherdog, so would not pretend to be super informed lol

But are'nt californian politics gone full retard on tolerance toward crime, specially if done by minorities?

Why in a country where laws are accomplices and police probably shy, people would even bother do personal efforts to protect trillionaire company goods lol?

Look I don't care about Apple whatsoever, it's the mentality that worries me.
If a girl was getting raped in the middle of the mall, there would be a hundred people walking by so they didn't get involved...and that my friend, is a scary thought.
There’s a bit of a difference between property theft and rape.

Meh. Two different scenarios if you ask me

No. All that shit is a lie. instead of shoplifting, a crime usually committed by kids and desperate people with no money, being a felony, it is now a misdemeanor. That’s all.
You see a lot of videos of theft in California because there are a lot of people in California and crime has gone up nation wide since the pandemic.

However, conservative states still have the highest violent crime and homicide rates. Not only that, those rates have risen in conservative states more than in any other state since the pandemic.

Also, in SF, the DA had an issue with the police. He supported defund the police or something, so the police basically went on strike without going on strike. They were all out on patrol but they refused to do their jobs.

First rule of owning a business is HAVING A BUSINESS PLAN. If you can't afford proper resources to run a small business...guess what? You don't get to own one.

Don't blame innocent bystanders for not having a navy seals background and not solving your problems if a thief breaks in. A lot of small businesses in South Central do operate behind steel and glass in order to protect themselves, actually.

Protip: don’t get your politics from sherdog there’s like 10 people in the war room that know what the fuck they’re talking about

Meh, wait till data science (specifically AI and machine learning) gets to a point where those perps get identified and dealt with

Why make it a misdemeanor? Shit’s weak. I also live in a conservative state but the city with the most violent crime has a Democratic mayor and PA who are incredibly lax on crime.

But yeah I’m not getting shanked or shot by a bunch of thugs by trying to stop them from stealing a bunch iPads.

"where I’m from 10 folks would have tackled these thieves & held them until they were in handcuffs — today folks make watermarked TikToks"

First off, the clientele are a bunch of computer nerds... Secondly, why tf should they endanger their safety for Apple? Apple doesn't care about them.
The messed up thing is they would charge you with battery for beating up the thieves and they could sue you if you injure them. The chappelle stage rusher is suing or talking about a suit iirc.

Looks like the Palo Alto store on University Ave. I wonder if the devices have 'find my device' activated. I'm sure apple could set up all devices to disable outside of the store except for the device location finding service.

R.I.P. thieves.
Yeah those are worthless. Stealing Apple devices is. Pointless There. Are. Way us to. Hack them to be barely usable but not really usable.

Idiots

I did intervene with a female shoplifter at Kohl's. I was approaching the entrance and the sensor alarm was going off at the door. A cashier was behind the lady telling her to come back inside. The shoplifter kept walking I stepped in front of her and said I think you need to go back inside. She dropped the bag of stolen goods and said that's OK, you can keep it. I escorted her back inside until store security finally showed up. The cops came and arrested her and had me write a statement.

In the Apple incident I would have done nothing unless the store employees were trying to detain them and we're fighting them. I wouldn't approach two guys by myself for Apple. You need several citizens helping but it's still risky.

Stopped a dude from beating on his GF once when younger... Bitch started swinging and scratching at me... Stopped a shoplifter once... The store let him go...

Fuck folks...

95% of this world is pure trash. Thanos had it mostly right... I'd prolly elect for a 70% (selective) snap or so...

I'm still torn on if I'll do anything... but for a Corp...fekk no... Maybe for a human and most likely for an abused animal.

Humans don't rate very high at all anymore. Again a huge percentage of the world is trash and we have no one but ourselves to blame. Also despite all the talk and fluff we really do nothing about "anything". I've done my "time" and advocated for many a cause... I now realize it was futile for the most part. What little we gained was quickly swept by the next tide...

Very happy I will cash out and venture on before it matters and future folks will see and wonder.

Basically

This is the main problem. I’m salivating for. The opportunity there to fill that store with uppercuts on those skinny frail bitches.

But the reality. Is with laws these days I’d be caught holding assault charges and in worse trouble than them. Until these laws that protect criminals change we will be seeing shit grow worse and worse.

So let them steal the useless shit and don’t catch charges on yourself.

If they were stealing from the customers , I’d take my chances , stealing bricked useless display items?? Just laugh about it.

There's a gew videos in this thread that other people posted that support what im saying.
Yes different scenarios..but same result.
As a matter of fact @TeTe told a story that is horrifying.
