About the only thing I really know about Toby Keith is that time Kris Kristofferson put him in his place:

Yeah, that was already posted. Not doubting that it's a story that's been repeated countless times on the internet, we've all seen it. But I seriously doubt the wording and context that most of those stories are trying to portray are accurate. And one more time, Keith at that time was a very outspoken democrat. The story, at least as repeated, makes zero sense. This may be a surprise to some of you, but you can't believe everything you read on the internet.

As a brown guy growing up in a city in Southern Ontario, I was a HUGE Toby Keith fan. How do you like me now is still one of my favorite songs of all time.

Very sad to see this - I had just watched an interview he gave to his local news station, and he said he was in good spirits and was planning to beat cancer. So sad - RIP.

Democrat does not equal leftist. Toby Keith was a conservative who was pro war and supported American imperialism. The complete opposite of Kris Kristofferson.
