Oh I thought he died already.

But yeah he was quite a staple in the music industry.

Didn't have some sort of sexual liaison with Marlon Brando?

No, I don't think so, possibly, its hollyweird. I think you're remembering a few years ago when he said Marlon Brando had sex with Richard Pryor and Marvin Gaye. Which, was just bizarre and I could never understand how those guys ended up meeting in the first place. I was wondering if his brains were starting to go. This was several years ago. There have been rumors for years that he was bisexual and well, hell. He just died, I don't want to say too much but I'll just say, I didn't like the guy but he was a monumental figure in american music and culture.

R.I.P.

Hope its not offensive to admit I had him confused with Lionel Ritchie.

nah, people on another site are already saying a heckuva lot worse.

It cannot be overstated everything Quincy contributed to the music industry. If you liked music and television he was likely apart of your life in one way or another. He made the themes for Austin Powers, Sanford and Son and Fresh Prince of Bel Air (original with Will Smith) along with others. He produced some of the best albums of all time and Michael Jackson owes much of the success of his career to Quincy. I know many won't know but his album "The Dude" is good. It doesn't get a ton of love but it still holds up today.

The Dude is solid, a truly great album of it's time. The MJ fans try to say MJ did his own best songs (very true) but Quincy took those diamonds and polished them to make them better. MJ was a brilliant songwriter, he brought the bulk of songs like Billy Jean, Wanna Be Startin' Something, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, but it was Quincy who added horn charts, strings and brought in the best studio people, mixers, engineers and musicians. The fans don't like to hear it but Quincy made great songs and great albums greater.

That alone is GOATed

Some say Quincy was the Diddler before Diddy...
That's gonna be said. I was refraining because he just passed but I stopped liking him when he gloated the day after MJ died. What goes around comes around.

I hate when I hear guys like Quincy pass away because as time as passes I don't think people truly appreciate how important good producers are to developing an artist sound. This is why I think a lot of people trash the music of this era.

Producer is also such a hard title to define. It can range from financial production to songwriting to performing. It's easy for great production to get overlooked because it's not always easy to understand what the producer added.
