RIP My Launch PS5

Truly you continue to put out the most ridiculous nonsense I've ever seen spoken about hardware on this board.

#2 ranked game delivery platform that has seen exponential growth over the past decade. Is in the process of stagnation from greedy GPU makers. I wont normalize the illegal actions of a duopoly basing consumer retail price off enterprise consumption.

1080p averages are also becoming meaningless. Its shockingly being phased out as the primary resolution faster than i thought. Becoming a irrelevant metric moving forward.

He is basing his performance claims solely on one game. Nothing else matters.

Most games tested dont even average 100 frames per second on modern GPU's. Because these games target market are still those on 60hz displays. With post-launch development that is at best focused on content instead of optimization.

Are we really supposed to be impressed that the 9070XT averages 88 frames per second at 1440p in Marvel Rivals? A PvP game that places players against Bots to keep engagement metrics high. This is how low the bar is being set.

The hits keep on coming. In fact, no, performance benchmarks at lower resolutions are becoming more important and indicative than in our most recent past due to FSR and DLSS. Tensor cores and other factors contribute to supersampling performance, but the games are rendered at sub-1080p resolutions.

Oh, and also, it really changes nothing to go to higher resolutions:

Yet again, not that your ignorant babbling about that or the "duopoly" is relevant. Concepts like "entry level" are comparative, so we're assessing the cards respective to the product lines to which they belong that AMD sells.

We're in year six of this continued insulting comments and condescending attitude towards me. Where our disagreements deal in product descriptions and use cases surrounding video games. That for some reason you interpret as personal slights whether its me or someone else in the reply.

My line of work requires quick problem solving under continued high stress situations while eliminating my and others emotional state. So i understand how my replies could be interpreted as such. For that im sorry. But your continued treatment of me is unacceptable in such a casual setting.

Indeed, I feel like we have our own five stages of grief. We've reached the stage where you try to play the victim.

Not buying it. Frankly, I have difficulty believing you aren't intentionally trolling the forum.

Planned obsolescence is a thing.

That said, $500 for a powerhouse hub to play games from your couch for five years is a helluva deal. The cost/entertainment ratio is out of this world.

No complaints from me to Sony since day 1. Their product has always been reliable and long lasting as far as I've experienced.

Love you saying this. I probably won't make very many friends by saying this, but I view gaming as a really cheap hobby and find people complaining about DLC etc as overblown. While agree in a perfect world all sorts of goodies would just be included with the launch like in the past, but in the big picture, I still view gaming as a cheap hobby.

For example, Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth I've loved playing and have sunk in about 100 hours. My understanding is the New Game+ is a DLC item for I don't know, like $10 or $15 bucks. But paying like $40 to $60 for a game and sinking 100 plus hours into it, or paying $15 for a new game plus which will probably add 50 hours, is still VERY VERY cheap entertainment for the dollar in my books.

Sure, it's more expensive than internet browsing, but compared to going to movies, travelling, going out to a bar/restaurant, sporting event etc it's dirt dirt cheap for the time spent.

Suffered optical drive failures on both PS3 and PS4

Although I got a decade plus out of each of them
