Very few of your posts make any sense but this one stands out as particularly terrible.

How does sympathizing with police factor into the big vs small government debate? A local police force is a component of even the smallest bare-bones government and in fact the origin of government.

You need to focus on delivering a crisp, coherent point rather than just flinging a high quantity of hipsterish tidbits at the opposition and hoping something lands.

That may be, but police still need to act according to the law. So does Congress and the president. Just because none of them do and think they are better than the rest of the peasantry doesn't mean that in a so-called constitutional republic we shouldn't demand better from the people who nominally work for us.

Why the left is of the mind that government can be big in every shape and form and have damn near unlimited power to regulate and enforce law and still feel fit to criticize the people that compose the government is a bit hypocritical. That's why I have a hard time taking JvS seriously in a thread like this. What else does more and more consolidated power result in if not corruption among the people in power and abuses from their enforcement wing? "But, but, it's for the good of the people." Lol.

Lesson # 1-4 power corrupts.

That said, looting and vandalizing is not a proper response. That's just villainy. If people feel the police are corrupt and the political solution doesn't work then direct actions towards the source of corruption. Otherwise, you look like a pack of animals and the more pacified members of society will fear you more than the state. Isn't that counterproductive?

I'm talking about trying to have a real national debate and a cultural change towards the police and he posts some articles of clergy asking the police to do more in their neighborhoods. The same police that the community won't talk to and won't help.

Yes the police need to extend that olive branch and help, but there needs to be a societal change amongst SOME of the black community.

CNN legal guy says the robbery gives the officer probably cause for stopping Brown. If Brown struck the officer then the officer has legal authority to use deadly force even if suspect was fleeing.

Which if I lived in a community prone to rioting I'd find the down's dude to provoke the police a day after the newest shoe release. It's all about the timing. I'd get some Star Wars LEGO

If there was convenience store robbery, how would the responding officer know that the suspect was unarmed? How often is that the case? Would you assume the suspect was armed if just robbed someone? And when that person decides to flee instead of follow orders? Just because a suspect flees, it doesn't mean he's unarmed. How many times has an officer been shot by suspect because he hesitated in the heat of the moments.

I'm completely tired of the people defending the criminals like they are some innocent victims. It fucking bullshit.

That said, reasonable people can have opposition to police tactics, intelligence agency policies, and the rest of the corrupt, self-serving people that infest our government. The idea of checks and balances and constitutional restraint seems to be dying/dead.

I blame the left for encouraging the destruction of the meaning of language in order to usurp authority to buy votes. When the idea of rule of law and constrained government is eroded for short term personal political gain many suffer.

hang on man, I don't think the cop should have shot him fleeing 30 feet away with his back turned and no weapon. I think the cop lost his cool and did it, but that shot may still end up being illegal
