All I am asking for is mpore of a show of support for what is happening in their own community. And posting a coup,e articles you found where people are asking the police for more help is not any real proof.

Yes pan, I am going to ignore some links that you dug up that show either politicians talking a good game or clergy asking the police for more help.

Where are the national rallies at? Where is the big time stuff at? How many people from the community are actually involved in the "programs" that you posted?

I also haven't seen you condemn the people in here that are saying ohh well when black kids die by other black kids it is expected because most crime is basically committed by the same race as you (black on black or white on white).

Posting a couple articles about some people trying to help out does not equal blacks needing to get together more neighborhood watch groups, or starting to try and change the stop snitching culture or the not cooperating with police.

Black people are protesting police violence against young black men because it is a real thing! No matter how many examples of it that you see, you still deny it.

And by your logic white people don't care about domestic abuse. When a young white kid is tired of being picked on and decides to shoot up his local mall or school its a national story. There are protests on gun rights/violence. But everyday there are white men killing their wives. Where are the national story lines? Where are the protests. Maybe white people should start focusing on their domestic violence issues instead of getting in an uproar in the one off occurances when a white teen shoots up a school.

I just received a check from a black man from Ferguson who works as a janitor/house keeper for the children's hospital for which I work. Despite making just over minimum wage and having a pretty obvious social or intellectual disability, he decided to donate $200 towards improving the day-to-day lives of the kids treated here.

I'm interested to hear the police audio. CNN is already twisting the facts. Did it come out as an armed robbery? Did they dispatch what was taken at the time? Was it known for a fact that Brown was unarmed? The key here is that he wasn't innocent. You can plainly see him with his hands on the store clerk in an aggressive manner.

Reporters are saying that it was only 50.00 box of cigars. Sure, but the officer had a reason to stop Brown and what happened after that is what is in question.

Where are the PSA to help the police, where are the MAJOR rallies, where are the national panel discussions where all sorts of people are invited to talk about the issue on major tv networks?

has Obama asked the black community to help the police, I know he said the police acted foolishly when that professor got arrested, and he inflamed shit during trayvon, where is his ass at?

Yes I know they don't represent all blacks-but apparently since no one else is willing to step up that's all we got, but where are Sharpton and Jackson holding national conferences on the subject?

It's cool that some clergy from a couple of neighborhoods are asking the police for mor help, but it is gonna take more than that.

The Atlantic, Huffington Post is just stuff I dug up? Stuff from a variety of communities is stuff I just dug up. Not the product of actual journalism by actual journalists? All I've done is link it.

I posted those links to demonstrate that your claim that people aren't protesting said violence is wrong. Obviously there isn't going to a web link for every single time people in a random community get together to do something about violence. A news article every time someone in a community makes an effort to provide alternatives to violence

You've presented nothing that supports your claim that no one cares. You're wrong. The links presented demonstrate that you're wrong. I know that you're going to claim that the people you talk to don't care. But the one thing your posting has made clear is that you seem to mostly know losers and that you're more comfortable with their opinions that the opinions of more intelligent black people. :icon_neut

It's already been confirmed that he is white by the media. However, it seems that in six years as a cop he's never been disciplined for anything. I feel for the family of Brown and I also feel for the officer. His life will never be the same, he may need to change his name to stop the death threats.

We all know if it had been the other way around (the cop getting shot and dying) this would barely be a headline.

Police have released video of Brown stealing a box a cigars from a store and shoving store clerk shortly before the shooting. This was allegedly the reason behind the police stop.

Hey man, apparently you haven't read the thread because I have already stated the cop is guilty and should be found guilty.

I just want the black community to show as much emotion when hundreds of their own people are getting mowed down by their own people.


Were you trying to make a point here because yes everytime there is a white kid that shoots up a school, we damn near go into national debates about changing the 2nd amendment.

You really need to stop speaking out on what the black community should/shouldn't be doing when you literally have next to idea what's going on. Just because you don't pay attention to the politics within the black community except in those rare occasions that come to national spotlight doesn't that the community itself is idle.

As far as Sharpton, he doesn't speak for black America as much as he would like to think he does.

CNN legal guy says the robbery gives the officer probably cause for stopping Brown. If Brown struck the officer then the officer has legal authority to use deadly force even if suspect was fleeing.
