I never said that police brutality was the foremost plight of urban blacks. The plight does, however, stretch beyond the sentiment that black men need to stop being needlessly unruly. I live in St. Louis, by the way, so you don't need to tell me about our crime rates, especially when you haven't even done this conversation the dignity of looking up your numbers. Your "1 person this year" figure is low, as you obviously have no connection to or knowledge of the event, the issues that surround the event, or the city in which the event took place.
Also, for the record, I'm about as white as they come. My familiarity with the problems facing urban blacks comes from my occupational experiences, my academic endeavors, and the fact that I'm willing to think beyond what is convenient and simple.
