Crime Riot+Looting in Ferguson, MO

Brown was killed after police said he and another person got into a "physical confrontation" with a Ferguson police officer at around noon Saturday, and that at one point the officer was shoved back into his patrol vehicle, followed by a struggle for the weapon and one shot being fired inside the car. The officer then exited the vehicle and shot Brown several times, police said.

But the friend who said he was with Brown that day, Dorian Johnson, told NBC affiliate KDSK that the officer grabbed Brown around the neck, that there was no struggle for the weapon, and that the officer shot Brown as the 18-year-old ran away with his hands in the air to surrender. St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert P. McCulloch, who is investigating the shooting, said his office was interviewing Johnson Wednesday afternoon.

The man shot Tuesday night was identified as Esrail Eli Britton of St. Louis County. Belmar said the unnamed officer chased Britton while looking for another group of reportedly armed men, and shot Britton several times after Britton allegedly spun and pointed a handgun at him. Britton survived and is in critical condition, and will be charged with assault on a police officer in the second degree and armed criminal action. A handgun was recovered at the scene, Belmar said.

Interesting comment by the other person with Brown. Was Brown surrendering or running away?

So the "incident" that started the lawlessness isn't relevant to you? Got it. Totally makes sense.

Thanks for playing.

This just in: Innocent people can be tear gassed, shot with rubber bullets because the person the event is based around is being claimed [by one person and no eyewitnesses] to have attempted to attack him. Meanwhile eyewitnesses are saying he had his hands in the air and was running away.

As Obama says, don't do stupid things.
Take your own advice you spastic.

I woke up and heard reports this morning of police in the area intentionally targeting reporters, and not just local ones, and detaining them, taking their equipment, ect. I've seen a few pics in the last pages of this thread I just scrolled through, but is that legitimately happening? It was 'unconfirmed' and 'claimed that', but holy shit, it doesn't take too many pics of armed, gas-masked figures going straight after people with video cameras who are CLEARLY not part of any rioting, looting, demonstrations, ect., for the police to lose any claim of legitimate action.

Saw this story for the first time last night and read through this thread.

s'up murica?

you can't say Anon is evil, everyone can be Anon. probably some of Anon member disagree with this. and i think they leaked the information of the police officer based on how they treated the protesters, IM NOT SURE ABOUT THAT THOUGH. so don't quote me on that.

I'm as liberal as the next guy, if the next guy is a liberal, but,...

There are about 200 murders a year in STL. 200 residents are killed every year by other STL residents. Now, one person is killed by a cop.

Our favorite liberal websites post the horrors of this on the front page non stop, we now point out every time a cop does something questionable. We are rioting and painting the cops as the bad guys.

Cops are not the problem. This is clearly a disproportionate response. I'm going to drive down to STL and speak this logic to the people, it will surely resonate.

Oh, was the investigation concluded then? You seem to have a solidly set opinion of the character of the guy who was shot, I assume it's based on some kind of facts which you are able to share with everyone?

(Not in any way condoning the officer's information being released in this way.)

It's not unusual to see american welfare recipients driving very expensive vehicles that require very expensive hubcaps.

There are very expensive vehicles with hubcaps?

How many have you seen? Did they have that "I receive welfare" bumper sticker? Those are always a solid indicator.

That's just pathetic. Doesn't even bother arguing the point at hand. It's okay, we all know you lost.

You mean how you ignored the reports the guy punched the cop and tried to take his gun? Then called me 'spastic'? Yes, that is pathetic.

Those ''reports'' are from the accused himself: they require corroboration. They don't provide it.

Obviously, he followed them all through the checkout line and saw them buying lobster with their ebt cards.

As a black man I can say this without consequence…stop talking back and getting physical with the cops and then play the victim when they do something to you. It is NOT your job on the streets to prove you’re innocent or guilty. If the cops suspect you of something, let them prove it in a court of law. It is not worth your life to sit there and scream and holler “I DIDN’T DO NOTHING!!!” “I AIN’T GOING TO JAIL!!!” and then proceed to resist arrest and aggravate the situation. I mean the first sentence of the Miranda Rights is “You have the right to remain silent.” You don’t have to say a damn word to the police if you feel you are innocent but some *****z just can’t keep their mouths shut. I’ve heard very little evidence about this story but I highly doubt 10 police officers just rolled up on an 18 year old boy and lit him up like a Christmas tree without question because it was a Thursday. If video comes out after to prove that happened then so be it but I’m sick of these people who think they can go head to head with the police and ain’t shit going to happen to them. You have no respect for authority and that’s why you’re in this position to begin with.

As shocking as it is as a former STL area resident, I'm not really surprised when I think about it. There's a huge racial and economic divide in STL. Downtown is a shithole. There are ghettos that look like war torn countries. I'm not surprised the police are armed like a branch of the military.

Pretty crazy reading the comments on social media and news reports. Whites telling blacks to get jobs, stop abusing the system, etc. Blacks blaming whites for everything. This was always just below the surface and, imo, was just needing something like this to put the entire city and surrounding areas into chaos.
