Also, to clarify, this isn't clearly divided between white and black. While I cannot speak to the ethnic identities of the looters, there have been a great deal of white protesters taking part in the picketing/demonstrations opposing police violence
By the police? No. By the property owners? Yes.
I cross the river from Edwardsville, but my girlfriend lives in Tower Grove, which I don't believe is particularly dangerous. Nonetheless, I've been urging her to purchase a firearm for home protection for some time.
Just a bunch of poor people looking for an excuse to steal
Yeah I'm in Granite City and work in Brentwood (we just moved our office to Brentwood from Clayton). To be fair, most of the violent crime in STL is gang bangers shooting other gang bangers. I would be most of the looters in Ferguson actually came from North St. Louis City. I also worked at the airport for five years where we had off duty cops as security.
One of them told me a story when he came in one night of how him and another cop were called to a suspicious activity call. It was two teenage kids hanging outside the back alley of a near by warehouse building. He said the kids ran and they chased them and caught em and beat the s*** out of them. Then he said they asked them where they were from and it was from another municipality so they told the kids "get the eff out of here and go back to _________ and don't let us see your face around here anymore" and sent them on their way. The other cop he waswas a combatives instructor, former college wrestler and had kick boxed. He was regarded in the area as a total bad ass. The whole time the guy was telling the story, he was laughing like it was funny. It was very awkward for me.
That's...disturbing. I know a guy who was a Chicago police officer and had very similar stories. You try and pretend that every story you hear is just a wild exception.
I don't get it, didn't the kid attack the cop and try to take his gun?
Typical thug mentality, we do what we want and should have no consequences for our actions.
I live just about 5 minutes from that area and have friends that live in Ferguson and went to a community college near there. I can't say I'm not entirely shocked to be honest.
Almost exactly the same thing happened in London and other English cities a few years back. Police shot a man with a long record of violent and drug related crime. They also recovered a weapon at the scene. But there were still protests, and those protests quickly escalated into an orgy of looting, arson and murder.
The vast majority of scum involved didn't know the man the police shot and couldn't care less about him. They simply wanted to burn and pillage as much as possible. Two of the sub-humans were asked by a BBC reporter why they were looting. They replied,
"Because we want to...and the police can't stop us."
A lot of Libtards tried to link the looting to poverty, until it was pointed out that the scum were stealing high-end trainers, PC's etc, rather than food.![]()
Anonymous threatening to dox and release personal information of entire Ferguson PD if Missouri politicians do not put forth a bill named after the victim that would reform police behavior. They already shut down the city gov's website last night.
I remember the London riots well...I was stuck at work in Birmingham and promised myself.....next riot I wont miss. I think vast majority of people just wanted to smash and burn things and get away with it.
Gotta love it. They are protesting no due process by giving no due process, and shutting down the whole city to boot. Makes sense. But then....Anonymous types never really do care about solving problems, imo. They are just looking for any excuse to wreck something.
The whole struggle and attack on the police officer is what the officer himself is saying. Those reports don't include what other key eye witnesses have to say. The fact is though, the kid was unarmed, pretty sure he was fleeing, and he got shot like 5 times in the back. Why do you need to shoot an unarmed person 5 times in the back.....
